Community Planting Day holds another successful event.
The gorgeous Aurora Community Arboretum in cooperation with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority brought you the annual Community Planting Day that happened last Saturday, 30th of April 2011. It was a day of nature and global awareness and of a great cause where it was definitely clear that a lot of people really care about the environment and the planet. These days, we are all facing natural adversity caused by human activities like water pollution and air pollution. This event definitely helped in awakening the world and telling its people that without any awareness on what our environment needs, we will only end up paying a terrible price.
Awareness filled the air last April 30, 2011, Saturday at 10 in the morning onwards at the Aurora Community Arboretum as everyone was invited to plant shrubs and trees. The environmental event provided the guests with free parking to offer convenience for everyone as no admission fees or any charges were asked during the event. Everyone was invited and encouraged to bring their family and friends to come and help the world through planting. The event also had a small group talk right after the event explaining how little acts like planting trees and shrubs could help the environment.
The planting event encouraged everyone to bring their own shovel to make them feel comfortable but to those who didn’t have their own shovels, the event provided them so that they could help contribute to a healthy and eco-friendly local community. The activity lasted the whole day and by the end of the day, the coordinators told everyone that by planting, they can all improve the quality of water and air and that it would also generate wildlife habitat for many generations to come. The Community Planting Day was an opportunity for the locals to make a personal and long-lasting contribution to the environment.
