Finding a good mortgage consultant

Brampton Volunteers Do their Part in Delivering Christmas Boxes

The Christmas Spirit can certainly be felt with the number of volunteers turning up for The Brampton Guardian Santa Claus Fund. The number of people who volunteered for the cause was overwhelming, with dozens of locals showing up on Monday to do their part in delivering gifts to thousands of less fortunate children in the area.

Due to the high turnout of “Santa’s Elves”, deliveries are now almost complete.

Rob Williams—who is one of the effort’s organizers along with his wife Kim—comments to being dumbfounded by the surprising number of volunteers.

For this year, more than 65 drivers volunteered for the first night of deliveries – a task which usually takes around a week or so to complete. That first night of work alone almost had every recipient checked off the Christmas list.

Williams says he was stunned and overwhelmed at the long line of people waiting to receive boxes awaiting delivery. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect such a massive turnout. He even remembers one man waiting almost two hours for the depot to open at 6:30 in evening.

You too can do your part. Donations and contributions are still being accepted by The Brampton Guardian Santa Claus Fund. Call 416-869-4847 or log on to www.thestar.com/santaclausfund.
