Brockville’s Feed-In Tariff application has been approved by the Ontario Power Authority. The process is now being initiated to establish one of the largest municipally operated rooftop solar generation in Canada atop of the Brockville Memorial Centre. Over 1,200 solar panels will be installed over the summer and early fall, generating over 230 kW of energy into the Ontario Power grid. The intent is for project completion by late October/November which ultimately will generate revenues for the City of Brockville in the $200,000 range annually. Upper Canada Solar, a local solar installation firm, has completed the necessary engineering and will install the units shortly.
