2010 marks the 20th anniversary of SuperWalk and it will be Parkinson Society Canada’s biggest fundraising event yet! In 2009, $2.6 million was raised nationally through SuperWalk, helping fund 16 new research programs as well as providing resources for education, advocacy and support services to the over 100,000 Canadians living with this debilitating disease. This year it is our goal to raise $3 million, $900,000 of which is hoped to come from generous supporters in Central and Northern Ontario.

The Alliston SuperWalk is being held on Saturday, September 11th at Riverdale Park Lions Pavillion on Fletcher Crescent, with registration beginning at 9am. This is a fun family event with participants ranging from infancy and on! You can even register your family as a team. Everyone is welcome!

The Alliston Potato Festival has grown and expanded its existence over the years. Today it is a 3 day event taking place not only on Victoria Street but also on 2 baseball fields that convert into the Festival fairground every August. We are known for one of the biggest parades that kick off the potato festival. Over the years, one thing that has remained constant is that the festival is truly a community affair. It has remained, for some of the non-profit organizations, their biggest fund raising event of the year.
