With Canada Day just a few days away, folks in the City of Barrie are working double time in order to offer something for everyone.
Put together by the city and Downtown Barrie, the Canada Day celebrations will run from the 1st to the 4th of July at three locations, namely Dunlop Street, Heritage Park and Meorial Square. These areas will be closed to traffic to accommodate the huge crowds expected to join in on the fun.
According to Craig Stevens of Downtown Barrie, formerly BIA, Canada Day and the events taking place over the next few days are tailor-made for the whole family. Some of the activities kids will like include fireworks shows and a hodgepodge of entertainers ranging from stilt walkers, jugglers, to acrobats and contortionists.
With these people taking to the streets on July 1, it’s pretty safe to say your kids are in for a treat!
Stevens adds that the goal behind having entertainers is to turn Barrie’s streets into entertainment stages. Downtown Barrie will also put up a main stage at Memorial Square. Other things to check out include jumping inflatables, face painting, and a whole lot more.
