The Royal Canadian Legion Perth War Museum will be open for the day. The Perth War Museum is located on the 2nd floor. There will also be other Millitary displays from Ottawa set up on the 2nd floor as well

The Train Club will be setting up a HO scale layout for everyone to check out & participate in,….. along with a workshop in the afternoon.

Not only will there be full days of entertainment and fun, there will also be a large market of local artisans and vendors. The staff at Lotus Wings wants you to know that they will be there as well. On Friday (July 16) from 12:00pm to 9:00pm some Lotus Wings practitioners will be giving mini Kripalu Massage Treatments and Reiki Treatments for a dollar a minute. Other practitioners will be giving various treatments such as reflexology and cranio-sacral work. Practitioners will also be available on Saturday & Sunday (July 17-18).

Denise Carpenter, Reiki Master and co-owner of Lotus Wings, along with other Reiki practitioners, will be giving information about Reiki and free treatments from 1:00pm to 1:50pm in a different area of the park. They will be located in the far side of the park, past the bridge.

The Round Garden is designed for the blind in that it focusses on smell, taste, and sound. A circular stone walkway takes you around the garden. Various raised garden beds are provided to explore. The garden fountains, surrounding woods and bird chirps add relaxing sounds, there are herb gardens for you to taste, and there are various seating areas around the perimeter to sit and enjoy the various senses of this outdoor summer garden. Signs in English, French and Braille let you discover the various garder plots. During the summer, the Perth Farmers’ Market operates on the same property.

Built and maintained by Friends of the Garden for the Blind, the Round Garden is visited by more than 5000 people each year.

For Directions to the Round Garden: Take Wilson Street towards Highway #7, turn left at the lights at Sunset Blvd. Travel down until you see a stone sign for the Lanark County Administrative Building on your left, and turn left into the site which is located a ways off the road. The garden is reached via a pathway to your right as you drive up. Parking is available.

Music starts at the mainstage at 6:30 with our special guest MC, Brian Perkin of LAKE 88.1 FM. The evening musical line-up includes: Christine Graves (contemporary/roots); Along the Lines (road music); Beautiful Inferno (alternative rock) and Tell Mama (jazz/blues/folk & funk). Serving of Free Canada Day Cake will be announced from the stage at approximately 8:15pm. At 9:40pm the Town Crier will make his annual Canada Day Proclamation, following by remarks on behalf of Council by Deputy Mayor John Gemmill. Joel LeBlanc will then lead the crowd in singing the National Anthem, and fireworks will follow at 10pm sharp.

Come early and get your spot on the hill for great viewing of the fireworks! Conlon Farm Recreation Complex is located  at the junction of Conlon and Smith Drive in the Town of Perth.

As a way of marking the music festival’s 20th anniversary, the free event’s organizers have put together an impressive roster of talents, most of whom were chosen by the public as certified favorites through the festival’s rich 20-year history. Heather Hansgen, the show’s producer, said that all-time favorites such as Rick Fines, Suzie Vinnick, Lynn Miles, Jenny Whiteley, and a whole lot more will be at this year’s festivities.

In order to stay afloat, the free festival is being supported by over 100 local sponsors, making sure that 1: it stays free and 2: all the fans enjoy it. The festival’s 20^th anniversary wouldn’t be unique without any special events, and that’s exactly what participants this year can expect to see at the venue, with a town crier and birthday cakes among some of the spectacles sure to wow everyone in the family.

Coming from the wild imagination of Perth resident Travis Gordon, who directs, writes, and edits the series, Spellfury is a web-series approaching its 12^th “webisode” to complete its first season. The web show is released every 45 days on a number of platforms, with YouTube and iTunes getting the biggest audience share.

Gordon says that despite having a wide gap of 45 days between episodes, Spellfury is always in the stages of pre-production, production, and post-production, sometimes even at the same time. The Perth native is so busy that his apartment has now been overrun by props, lights, costumes, and other equipment.

Gordon and his fellow Perth resident Jason Devlin, who produces the show, both drew inspiration from the action flicks they saw when they were young students. From there, they had the idea of putting up their own production company to make their own films. The two then went to college and learned how to do just that.
