Storytime in Carleton Place

Storytime is a fun session for 2-5 year olds. We read books, sing songs, and learn lots of pre-literacy skills! We run two sessions each week—9:30am and 10:15am. Please register weekly for the session you’d like. And don’t wait until the last minute—it fills up fast! As with all of our winter programs, if the buses don’t run, there is no storytime session that morning.

Funtivity Drop-in

Looking for something fun to do with the kids during their PA days? Drop by the library between 1:30pm and 3:30pm for LEGO fun! We’ll put out all our Lego…your children will build to their hearts content! No registration is required. As this is a mostly unsupervised activity, parents are asked to stay with small children.

33rd Community BonSpiel

On January 27^th, the Carleton Place Curling Club (CPCC) is set to kick of the 33^rd Annual Community Bonspiel!!!

No curling experience is required! You only need some warm clothes and a clean pair of shoes… all other equipment (such as brooms, grippers, and sliders) is provided by the CPCC. This annual “FUNSPIEL” brings people together from:

local businesses;
community services;
schools;
churches;
families; and more.

There is no limit on the number of players to a team, however teams are to be limited to no more than 2 “regular” curlers on the ice at a time. Teams can (and are encouraged to) change curlers at any time and as often as desired! All teams are guaranteed to play at least 3x 6-end games with many fantastic prizes at the conclusion of the bonspiel. The very popular theme basket will also be raffled.

This year will see a change in the format. The event will be played on a weekend. Registration includes morning refreshments and dinner on Saturday evening, along with entertainment. Lunch will also be available for a moderate fee.

This hugely popular family friendly community event fills up very fast so be sure to register your team A.S.A.P.!

Register early. If you register and pay by December 22, 2017, the fee is $100. Teams that register and pay after this date will be charged $120.
