The Macdonald Festival and Sir John A. Macdonald Back-From-the-Dead Concert Tour is a party 119 years in the making. Don’t miss this entertaining summertime celebration of Canada’s founding father and first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald.

Enjoy music, theatre, comedy, art, food, drink, and politics in Macdonald’s beautiful hometown of Kingston.

Playing nightly is the fabulous funk-rock musical The Sir John A. Macdonald Back-From-the-Dead Concert Tour. It’s a ghost story. A love story. A tale of scandal. Come find out what happens when Sir John’s ghost rises from the grave, once a year on a summer night.

Departing daily Monday-Saturday from the Kingston Tourist office are our guided Magical History Tours of Macdonald haunts. The entertaining two-hour tours are filled with music, dance, and comedy, and include beautiful Bellevue House and the Marine Museum, two must-see stops on any Macdonald Tour.

The Festival also offers Macdonald menus, Macdonald Ale, and a musical Canada Day celebration and political picnic at historic Bellevue House with ‘Sir John’ himself in attendance.
