Canada Faces Off Against Germany and Kingston-born Player

While he may be part of Germany’s hockey team playing at this year’s Winter Olympics at Vancouver, British Columbia, folks from the City of Kingston, Ontario, are buzzing about the upcoming performance of German forward John Tripp, against the heavily favored Team Canada. As it turns out, John Tripp was born in Kingston. He and his team will be facing Canada in the elimination round taking place on Tuesday this week.

Although suffering a 5-3 loss to Team U.S.A.’s hockey team, Canada is still facing forward and isn’t letting the loss drown their hopes of finishing strong. They can still win Gold, but first they need to get by Germany, which many experts think is very likely, but an upset is also possible they added. If they win that match, then Russia will be next. The team is also very strong, and many think Canada will be in for a very tough game, should they get through Germany.

If Canada somehow makes it to the semi-finals, then they have the opportunity to make up for their loss by playing for the gold.

Germany has not won a game so far at this year’s Olympics, but they’ve scored three goals, one of which was done by Tripp, who started playing professionally in Germany in 2004.
