\"Harpdog<\/a>Who let the Dog out?<\/p>\n

Vancouver\u2019s HARPDOG BROWN was on the loose at BOTR @ The Cove Inn,\u00a0Westport\u00a0Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0night and the crowd loved it – eating up his \u201ctake no\u00a0prisoners\u201d harmonica playing, deep Bluesy\u00a0voice, great selection of songs (most\u00a0of them original) and entertaining showmanship. Now I know what western\u00a0Canadian and Pacific Northwest Blues fans have been talking\u00a0about for years!\u00a0Harpdog has the kind of feel for the Blues that only comes with experience and\u00a0he\u2019s got a ton of it. His young guitarist from Victoria – Jordan Edmonds –\u00a0accompanied him beautifully all night long – not showy just tight and good. And\u00a0of course Downchild members Gary Kendall on bass and Mike Fitzpatrick on drums\u00a0provided a rock\u00a0solid backline. The Cove buffet was delicious as usual, the dance floor stayed packed all night and $560\u00a0was raised for the WESPORT LIBRARY. All in all – a wonderful evening. What a\u00a0terrific way to kick off the new season!<\/p>\n
