Made up of Jo Beattie and Cristy Williams, Honey & Rust are an Ottawa-based Roots Rock band that formed in September 2014.. Country and Rock runs in their blood, Jo from Saskatchewan and Cristy from small towns like Athens, Ontario. They aren\u2019t afraid to cross genre lines to sing and play the music that makes them alive on stage and the audience on the edge of their seats.<\/p>\n
Honey & Rust will take you on a story-laced, high-energy, and dynamic ride. Highly influenced by old-time country greats like Patsy Cline, rockin\u2019 ladies like Janis Joplin, and the smooth, soulful sounds of Tracy Chapman, they draw upon music that moves the soul and engages the heart.<\/p>\n
Honey & Rust released their self-titled debut album,\u00a0Honey & Rust<\/em>, in June 2016.<\/p>\n \u201cThe album rockets out of the gate like a racehorse on the appropriately named\u00a0Hold Me Down,\u00a0<\/em>an energetic track that dares you to stop it. There\u2019s this beautiful snarl in Beattie\u2019s voice that makes you wonder what might have happened if Joplin did Bluegrass.
