CHAFFEY\u2019S LOCK & AREA HERITAGE SOCIETY presents \u201cGEARING UP FOR SUMMER DANCE\u201d <\/span><\/b> We are welcoming back the band leMeow (soul-infused indie pop smothered in sass) Get ready to “get down”! Door and Bar open at 7pm. Music starts at 7:30pm. Tickets <\/span> available online at Onstage Direct<\/span><\/a> , with a limited number at Brown<\/span>‘s Marina.<\/span> <\/p>\n \u200bThe Chaffey\u2019s Lock Community Hall was built on bake sales, dances, and raffles, and with nails, boards and labour donated by the community. At the helm of this tremendous community effort was the Chaffey\u2019s Lock Women\u2019s Institute, which succeeded in its goal of opening the Hall in time for the 100th anniversary of the Rideau Canal in 1932. The Institute added the kitchen in 1978.<\/p>\n Over the years the Hall has seen a wide variety of events, including the Women\u2019s Institute\u2019s annual bazaar, dances, potlucks suppers and concerts.
