With a contemplative wisdom that belies his young age, Jon McLurg spins songs of truth, reflection, melancholy, contentment, and spirituality. Influenced by the music of Mississippi John Hurt, Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, John Prine, Leonard Cohen, and Bob Dylan, Jon has entered into the realm of the songwriter with class, abundant talent, and wit, and his soft but smooth voice and elegant finger-style guitar playing are the perfect vehicle for his songs.<\/p>\n

Jon’s song \u201cSomeone Thinks of You\u201d has won the American Songwriter magazine<\/a><\/span> lyric contest. A list of runners-up and honourable mentions is available on the magazine’s website<\/span><\/a>, and they have published the full text of Jon’s lyrics<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
