The second show of our 2015 season is the gripping Frederick Knott thriller Wait Until Dark, a heart-thumping tale of a blind woman who must fend off a group of seedy drug dealers and thieves who have invaded her apartment using a variety of ruses. Later a beloved Audrey Hepburn film, the stage version features some of the most intense moments Broadway witnessed in the 1960s.

Perth Hosts Classic Theatre Festival

The newly established Classic Theatre Festival is set to open its inaugural season here in Perth this summer, and while it’s still a few weeks away, residents from the area are already buzzing about the event.

Locals and tourists in town have a chance to bag a season pass good for 2 people to the festival by emailing their names and contact details to info@classictheatre.ca. Draws take place every month starting next month on the 1st. Those interested in joining the contest can also fill up ballots and drop them at drop-boxes scattered across Perth, Carleton Place, and Smiths Falls.

The festival is Ontario’s newest professional summer theatre company, and will feature music from Broadway and the London Stage’s Golden Age, also known as the period between the 20’s and the lat 50’s. Laurel Smith, a veteran theatre producer and director, is the woman responsible for the event. She has worked with Toronto’s prestigious G.B. Shaw productions, producing shows for Modern Times Theatre, Burning Passions Theatre, and many more.

For tickets and reservations, you can call 1-877-283-1283 or log-on to www.classictheatre.ca. You can also score your tickets at Tickets Place here in Perth.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this musical extravaganza.
