Catch Healthy Habits

26

Winter Park residents age 50 and older will be needed to volunteer with other older adult volunteers to teach children ages 6-11 about healthy eating and fitness at Winter Park Community Center,
local schools, and other youth organizations.

The RCLL VOICE is a unique educational and service program that utilizes the special talents of older adult volunteers in Central Florida to address local community issues such as making communities more age-friendly, reducing health disparities, and addressing food insecurity among community residents. Volunteers serve as trained mentors and use their expertise to assist children, teens, and adults in a variety of areas including health and education.

The Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College received a generous grant from the Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) to support the Volunteers Organized in Community Engagement (VOICE) Program. VOICE is reducing the incidence of childhood obesity in Winter Park and surrounding communities by implementing a highly successful older adult volunteer service program, the CATCH Healthy Habits Program.
