Winter Park Golf Lecture Series for April Features Rich Lerner

It’s time once again for another edition of the Winter Park Country Club’s Golf Lecture Series brought to you by the North Florida PGA and the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. For the month of April, the Lecture Series will feature Rich Lerner, an accomplished figure in the world of golf. As always, seats for this month’s lecture are limited, so grab your tickets right now, which are priced at just $10.

To those who ardently follow the sport, Rich Lerner is one of the most easily recognizable journalists/reporters in golf. Lerner took up and received a degree in journalism from Philadelphia’s Temple University. Lerner has been a mainstay at The Golf Channel since 1997 and it was with the network that he made his presence known in golf through his smart essays and sharp commentary for PGA TOUR tournaments. Regular viewers of PGA TOUR telecasts will instantly recognize Lerner as the host who sets the scene before the start of play.

Golf Lecture Series for March Features Erik Compton

Another month has passed and it’s time once again for another episode of the Winter Park Country Club Golf Lecture Series, brought to you by the North Florida PGA® and as always, the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The March edition of the lecture is set to take place on the 23rd of March, at exactly 6:30 in the evening. For this month, the lecture will feature renowned PGA TOUR® Erik Compton, known for his great achievements in the sport despite being afflicted with heart disease.

For his dedication to the sport of golf, Compton is without a doubt an inspiration to those who suffer from heart disease. After receiving two heart transplants, Compton still competes with the very best golfers in the world today. After attending college at the University of Georgia, Compton turned pro in 2001. He has so far played in close to 20 PGA TOUR events.

Since space for the lecture is very limited, tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Tickets to the event are priced at $10, with light refreshments to be served during the lecture.

Lecture Series Features Renowned Instructor

Winter Park Country Club’s Golf Lecture Series will be featuring a special PGA® Merchandise Show on the 27th of January, at 6:30 in the evening. The WPCC, located along 761 Old England Avenue in Winter Park, Fl, will be having a lecture with the special participation of Jim McLean, one of golf’s top 5 instructors in the world today.

With golfers and lovers of the sport are rushing to get reservations, it might be a bit difficult to get seats, especially since they are limited. Tickets are priced at $10, and can be purchased at the WPCC. Snacks and refreshments will also be provided by by Tolla’s Italian Deli & Cafe.

For 20 years, Jim McLean has worked with golf’s top professionals, as well as young golfers to help build their skills and talents. Looking to share his knowledge and experience, the winner of the 1994 PGA National Teacher of the Year award founded the Jim McLean Golf School, which is widely regarded as the world’s best golf school.

The special edition lecture is presented by the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the North Florida PGA.

Golf Lecture Series with Eight-Time PGA Tour Winner Lee Janzen in Winter Park FL

One of the oldest golf clubs in the Central Florida can be found on Winter Park FL, the Winter Park Country Club (WPCC) will host the sixth installment of the first Golf Lecture Series presented by Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children on October 6, 2009, at 6 in the evening. The series which continues each month until December showcases some of golf’s most celebrated PGA® and LPGA TOUR® players as well as fitness gurus, mental coaches, golf historians and other experts in the sport. Tickets for the sixth installment are priced at only $10 at the WPCC.

The Winter Park Country Club, a place rich in history, traces its roots back to 1900. The club has successfully maintained its stature in the golfing world, hosting some of golf’s biggest events. The club’s history includes plays from the likes of Hogan, Snead, Sarazen and Hagen. Featuring 2,470 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36, it has a rating of 32.4 and a slope rating of 50 on Bermuda grass.

On this month’s lecture, the Winter Park Country Club is proud to bring over Lee Janzen as the guest speaker for October’s session. Janzen is known for being an eight-time PGA Tour winner and two-time US Open winner. Drawn to golf at an early age, he won his first tournament at 15, playing for the Greater Tampa Junior Golf Association. In the next few years that followed, Janzen along with the Florida Southern team won the Division II national team championship. He turned pro in 1986.
