Dexter’s of Winter Park Wine Vault
Dexter himself, from Dexter’s of Winter Park once said, “The days of the gigantic ‘rip off’ mark up of wine on restaurant wine lists are numbered”. Now, Dexter has put together a wine vault wine list, stored under temperature controlled conditions, at Dexter’s of Winter Park that rivals anything in Orlando. What is vastly different is the price you will pay for a bottle of wine out of that wine vault. Here’s what I mean (just a very small sampling; no, they didn’t go out and survey Orlando).
2007 Cliff Lede Estate Cabernet Sauvignon – Dexter’s $79 / the others $120
2007 Anderson’s Conn Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon – Dexter’s $76 / the others $120
2009 Merieau ‘Arpent des Vaudons’ Sauvignon Blanc – Dexter’s $27 / the others $42
In other words, you will pay a price for your bottle of wine at Dexter’s of Winter Park that is similar to what you would pay for it in a retail wine shop. Whether it’s $27 or $250 on their list, the mark up is the same. YOUR BOTTLE OF WINE IS MARKED UP MUCH LOWER THAN THE STANDARD 2 1/2 to 3X COST MARK UP THAT IS STANDARD AROUND ORLANDO.
On top of that, Dexter will be in Dexter’s of Winter Park every Wednesday night to help you select that bottle of wine. And I’ll have a couple of wine features like the very highly rated Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons from the 2007 vintage and the great Chards and Pinots from Talley Vineyards, with some extra special prices on Talley. Of course, they’ll have something open to sample.
