Winer Park High School Bands’ Spring Concert

The Winter Park High School Bands will present two concerts in May to finish the band program’s 75th anniversary season. The Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Freshman Jazz Band will perform an array of music that showcases the bands’ tradition of musical excellence.

Winter Park High School BandsThe Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 and will feature works by Aaron Copland, Paul Hindemith, and David Gillingham. It will also feature senior concerto winner Sara Nazarian on the Chaminade flute concerto.

The Memorial Weekend Pops Concert will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 and will include lighter works by Frank Ticheli, Chuck Mangione, and John Philip Sousa. It will feature our second senior concerto winner, Matthew Mignardi, on the famous Carnival of Venice. The concert will conclude with a salute to our nation with performances of the Armed Forces Salute, America the Beautiful, and Stars and Stripes Forever!

Both concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Ann Derflinger Auditorium on the Winter Park High School main campus, 2100 Summerfield Road, Winter Park, FL 32792. Admission is free, and the public is warmly invited to attend.
