20th Annual Jeannette Genius McKean “Run for the Trees”
In honor of National Arbor Day, the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Winter Park will proudly host the 20th annual Jeannette Genius McKean 5K Memorial Run for the Trees. Event takes place April 28, 2012. This exciting 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk will begin at Showalter Field, located at 2525 Cady Way, and finish on beautiful Genius Drive which is open to the public only once a year for this magnificent event.
Funds raised from the event will support the Winter Park Tree Replacement Fund. Each “Run for the Trees” race participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt as well as a young tree to plant at a location of their choice.
