Annual Nutty Chocolatier Easter Egg Hunt

Visit the Muskoka Heritage Centre for their annual Nutty Chocolatier Easter Egg Hunt. Gate opens at 12:00 noon on April 8, 2012. Children are organized into age groups. Search for the golden egg and it’s all over by 1:00pm. Lots of Easter fun for the whole family.

Savour Muskoka – Maple Syrup Production

Learn how to tap, collect and process Maple sap on Sunday, March 25, 2012!

You will meet your class at Windy Acres Farm in Utterson and experience a fabulous day of finding the right trees, drilling and tapping, collecting and processing. Art Robertsons has over a thousand trees tapped and has been in production for many years. His business is growing yearly and his passion for the sticky sap will be infectious! A maple infused “tasting” of various foods cooked with maple syrup will be shared and you’ll be ready to tap your own trees after this introduction to Maple Syrup Production.

Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival

Mark your calendar for February 17 & 18, 2012! Come and join the fun at the 22nd annual Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival!

Snowball was originated by the volunteer Committee for the Dorset Recreation Centre back in 1991 as a community event and fundraiser for the Rec Centre. Snowball takes place on the 3rd weekend of February every year and has grown from an event that used to be only attended by people form Dorset to an event that is now attended by people from all over Ontario.

The main focus of Snowball is to provide affordable family oriented entertainment, to make Dorset a “destination” and to bring the community together for a day filled with activity and fun.

Come on out Hallowe’en night for the 23rd Annual Great Pumpkin Trail at the Muskoka Heritage Place. Event starts at 5pm and the last admission is at 7:30, so don’t show up too late. Come to a candle-lit village for tricky treats.

Parents are invited to bring their children to a safe trick or treating experience, where heritage homes are decorated for the kids to enjoy going door to door in a safe, traffic free area.
