Celebrate Canada Day in Brockville

The Canada Day celebration in Brockville features the traditional 11:45am parade from city hall to the Court House Green where “O Canada” will be sung at noon. Following will be sharing in the huge birthday cake.

The Brockville legion will host a barbecue starting at noon and running until 1 pm on Park Street and from 3-7pm, there will be chicken and ribs at the legion. The Riverfest kicks off on Canada Day and runs through Sunday. On Thursday, The Rainman, an Elton John tribute starts things off on the main stage at 7:30 pm with Destroyer, a KISS tribute band, playing at 8:30pm. A fireworks show at 10 pm off of Blockhouse Island wraps things up.

Brockville Riverfest 2011

Brockville Riverfest is a great festival featuring 3 days of entertainment and fun for the whole family!! Headlining this year’s festival is INXS on July 3rd!! Starting July 1st through the 3rd, you won’t want to miss this electrifying event.

Located on the lovely Blockhouse Island (Refuge Island), this year the Vendors will be distributed throughout the park to better facilitate the public. As well as giving a place for parents to browse while the kids are checking out the play areas where fun activities will be provided. Face painting, petting zoo, are just a couple of the activities being offered to keep the kids smiling while the adults check out the Vendors and enjoy the music.

1000 Islands Wine & Food Festival 2011

The 2nd annual 1000 Islands Wine & Food Festival presented by Brockville and Disctrict Tourism will be taking place on June 17 – 18, 2011 at the Brockville Memorial Centre (Magedoma Blvd., Brockville, ON). There will be local food producers, Ontario and international wineries, Ontario micro breweries, wine and cooking demonstrations, wine and food tasting, local artists and live entertainment.

1000 Islands Jazz Festival 2011

Brockville OntarioThe Brockville Concert Association is proud to present the 11th annual 1000 Islands Jazz Festival.

The 1000 Islands Jazz Festival has become a premiere jazz destination rightfully earning the title of the “Best Small Jazz Festival in Canada”. The dates for the 2011 festival have been set for Friday June 10 to Saturday June 18.

The Jazz Festival Committee has worked hard to put together a dynamite line-up of jazz performance. Something for everyone’s taste in jazz. Ethnic food from all over the world is all in one place at the Brockville & District 30th Annual Multicultural Festival. Two months of eggs, pancakes and sausages at the Edgewood Farms Pancake Breakfast

The past two months have been an onslaught of glorious breakfasts with the Edgewood Farms Pancake Breakfast. The event ran for almost two whole months, serving everyone present at the event with huge servings of pancakes, eggs and sausages. It was a blast to wake up and be served with great meals. The annual event started last February 26, 2011 and ended on April 24, 2011. And without a doubt, everyone who attended the daily event definitely went home full. The attendees of the event said that they couldn’t wait to come again the next day and again, be served with a sumptuous meal to start the day. The sumptuous pancake breakfast was held at the 7th Concession Rd. Addison Brockville ON.

Of course, the event was not just about breakfast. The event also featured tours and visits to the Pancake House and Museum for all the guests. The guests absolutely enjoyed the tours and got exciting giveaways to remind them of the great memories they made at the event. Entertainment was also present at the event to make an amazing celebration even more remarkable. From the 26th of February straight through the 24th of April, guest performers gave enjoyment and delight to the attendees. Everyone had a great time with performances from the likes of Rebekka Paige, Kathy and Friends, Just Us, County Road, Good Tyme Country, The Blue River Band, Tapping Out Party, The Girl With A Guitar, Crossroads, Pine Hollow and so much more. It was definitely the most exciting family event to hit the area.

With all these activities happening in the span of two months, many people will surely be excited for the event to happen again next year. For sure, even more activities and entertainment will be prepared to attract more guests. This year’s pancake breakfast was certainly fun.
