2011 Fall Classical Series

On Sunday, August 7, 2011 the The National Youth Orchestra will be performing at the Brockville Arts Centre (235 King St. West).

This 90 member ensemble brings the best young musicians from across the country to our main stage. They will bring a large variety of instruments and brilliant enthusiasm with a program including Tchaikovsy and Shostakovich.

The coveted places on the NYOC are awarded to the ‘best of the best’ young Canadian musicians aged 16 to 28. These extraordinarily gifted young artists will thrill you with their performance. The orchestra received the prestigious title of “best young orchestra in the world” at the World Youth Orchestra conference in Tokyo – and again in Edinburgh.

The NYOC’s concert tours have included every major Canadian City as well as tours in the United States, Asia and Europe. We are truly fortunate to have these outstanding young talents perform for us in Brockville this August. This concert, featuring works by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Marcus Goddard of the Vancouver Symphony, is not to be missed!
