Taste of Maple Tour

Welcome to the Taste of Maple week in Carleton Place featuring local retailers and restaurants. Watch for our Taste of Maple poster displayed in their front window then grab a Maple map so you don’t miss a thing.
Participating restaurants will feature one or more maple food items on their menus this could be anything from appetizers to main courses or enjoying a scrumptious dessert. Order a maple item and receive a ballot to qualify to win a ‘Basket of Maple Goodies’ gift certificates and more.
Check out local retailers find out what maple products they have for sale. Maples maps will be available at participating restaurants and shops the Information Centre town hall the pool and the arena. Come on out and Celebrate Maple.

International Women’s Day is an important day to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural & political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Yet let’s also be aware progress has slowed in many places across the world, so urgent action is needed to accelerate gender parity.

Will you help challenge conscious and unconscious bias? Imagine a world where women and girls can thrive. This International Women’s Day, what will you do to drive gender parity? How can you help women and girls achieve their ambitions? The World Economic Forum predicts the gender gap won’t close entirely until 2133. That’s way too long to wait. Help ensure women and men’s contributions are equally valued.

Will you take action to help create an equal future where everyone’s strengths and differences are truly valued?

Lanark Drum Circle

The Drum is sacred part of Native culture and represents the first sound we hear in our Mother’s womb, her heartbeat.
The songs we sing reflect native teachings and culture.

Lanark Drum is open to all nations on the medicine wheel, all genders and all ages. Join us in learning traditional songs and share our truths with an open heart, without judgements.

Learning Expo

The Annual Learning Expo is returning to the Carleton Place on January 16th from 10am to 4pm for the third year. Previously at the Carambeck Community Centre, the event has grown and will be moving to the Carleton Place Arena (75 Neelin St) upper hall this year. From early childhood development to college prep, this event brings together industry experts, community programs, education-related businesses and educators in one convenient location. Admission is free and the first 50 visitors will receive a swag bag of freebies and information from participating organizations. The show will feature talks on childhood health/nutrition, car seat safety and more! There will also be exhibits and vendors from area schools, extracurricular programs, summer camps, youth groups, community programs and services and more are being added daily. Learn about options for enrolling your children in school, child ID programs, health and safety, college prep and student employment services, driver’s education, playgroups and all things children and youth. In previous years visitors enjoyed information sessions on Homeschooling and lunch ideas from “The Brown Bag Café”. A Children’s craft area, free play zone and interactive dance and art workshop will entertain youngsters while their caregivers and parents browse.
