Celebration Celebrates 4th of July in Style – 50’s Style
It’s time for a trip down memory lane this July 4, as Celebration, Florida, brings you back to a time when Elvis was King, when hairspray was still a fad, and rock-n-roll was still new to the airwaves. The Celebration Town Center celebrates 4th of July, 50’s style, with an event titled ‘A Flashback 4th of July-An All-American Sock Hop’. The celebration kicks off at 5:30 in the afternoon, with a special 50’s-themed fireworks display taking place later at 9:30 in the evening.
‘Flashback’ will also feature a costume contest at 7:30 in the evening, where participants can dress in 50’s fashion, complete with leather jackets, poodle skirts, and many more. Dress to impress, and you just might win a prize.
At 6 in the evening, a special concert featuring popular tribute artists will be rocking the house, playing hits from Roy Orbison, Ritchie Valens, and legends of Motown. And if that’s not enough to make you wax nostalgic (if you’re old enough to remember that is), a fireworks show synchronized with 50’s love songs will also take place at around the same time.
