Lions Club Recycles Eyeglasses and Distributes Them to Less Fortunate
Do you have an old pair of eyeglass lying around that you no longer have any use for? How does giving it to someone in a developing country sound to you?
The Township of Rideau Lakes, in cooperation with the Elgin Lions Club and Westport Lions Club, is helping you to do just that. The two parties have come together to collect old & used eyeglasses and recycle them free of charge for the use of people living in developing countries.
If you want to pay it forward and help out the cause, you can drop off your eyeglasses used or new, or any eyewear for that matter, at these locations for the Lions Club.
- Murphy’s Barber Shop, Westport
- Dr. Radford’s Office, Westport
- Dr. Trickey’s Office, Westport
- Newboro Medical Centre
- Country Roads Community Health Centre, Portland
- Rideau Lakes Building Centre, Elgin
You can also give your eyewear to any Lions Member you know. He, or she, will be more than willing to deposit your donation at their office.
