Bloomfest 2019

 

BloomFest, presented by Hutch Down Records, is a free concert showcase (for all ages) throughout central Florida. They will be making a stop July 12th in beautiful Central Park, Winter Park from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Their showcase will feature 9 up and coming young talented artists. Come out and see original music as well as your favorite covers .

24th Annual 4th of July Celebration

 

Celebrate Independence Day with us!

Mayor Steve Leary will lead a special presentation at 9:15 a.m. from the main stage which will include an “Oath of Allegiance” naturalization ceremony for citizenship applicants. The celebration will also feature a Kids Zone with carnival games and an inflatable slide, train rides, live patriotic music performed by the Bach Festival Choir and Brass Band, and Sean Holcomb

In conjunction with the city festivities, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will celebrate 24 years on Park Avenue with its annual Independence Day Open House. The museum, which is home to the world’s most comprehensive collection of work by American artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, will provide FREE admission to its galleries from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also in downtown Winter Park, The Winter Park History Museum, located at 200 W. New England Ave. (north end of the Farmers’ Market building) will be open (free admission) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Spotlight Cabaret Series: Hannah Laird

 

Hannah Laird debuts her latest solo cabaret in The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series. Join Hannah for an exciting evening of music and story.

Patrons will remember Ms. Laird from her spectacular Playhouse debut as Jerusha in Daddy Long Legs. You can also see Hannah in the upcoming Mainstage performance of Heartbeats. Musical Director Christopher Leavy will accompany on the piano. These popular cabarets sell out quickly to get your tickets today!

This unique form of entertainment showcases a different professional singer each month up front in the beautiful lobby bar. A truly “New York-style” cabaret, each performance is approximately 55 minutes in length with no intermission. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for general seating. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m.

3rd Annual Florida Festival of New Musicals

 

Thursday, June 20 – Sunday, June 23

This four-day festival will showcase six brand new, never-before-produced musicals. One act of each musical will be fully read and sung concert-style, without staging, by varying casts of professional actors and musicians.

The 6 musicals within the festival include:

  • Good Girls Only
  • No Need for Trojans
  • The Island of Misfits – The Musical
  • ThreeTimesFast

$10 general admission tickets (GA tickets guarantee a seat but the location is on a first come, first served basis).
No reserved seating, line forms 30 minutes prior to each performance.
Pick 6 performances for $50 (6 shows for the price of 5).

Theater doors open 15 minutes prior to each performance. There is no late seating.

The Fun 4

 

As part of the quarterly One-Night-Only Series on the Mainstage, The Winter Park Playhouse will present THE FUN 4 – an internationally known Beatles tribute band – performing hits from their original Disney touring shows, Beatlemania and The British Invasion Show. Relive Beatlemania in a whole new way with THE FUN 4! Audiences will experience the thrill and excitement of a Fab Four concert as this all-star cast featuring members of the original Disney production of The British Invasion takes the stage at The Playhouse for a night of unforgettable entertainment.

THE FUN 4 takes its audience through a journey that includes classic hits like “A Hard Days Night,” “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Help!,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” and many other early favorites from the Ed Sullivan era. Changing from the early years and the signature black suits into the colorful “Sgt. Pepper Years” and the “Abbey Road Late Look,” THE FUN 4 continues the excitement with “Yellow Submarine,'” “Hey Jude,” “Come Together,” and much more!

Tickets are $65. Net proceeds from the evening will benefit The Playhouse’s quality musical programming.

Good Morning Winter Park is Winter Park’s live, interactive morning magazine featuring local topics ranging from politics to exploring entries in the marketplace in and around Winter Park, Florida.

 

Keynote Speaker: Mayor Edward “Eddie” Cole, Town of Eatonville

Mayor Edward Cole is the Founder and Youth Ambassador of the Every Kid Outreach, Inc. (EKO) that has operated in Eatonville, Florida since 1991.

While serving as Mayor, Cole has improved services at an unbelievable pace for all residents, especially the youth. His many years of service in working with youth gave him an excellent background to implement innovative youth programs in the Town of Eatonville during his administration.

He continues to serve as a mentor for male and female youth in the community.
