We look forward to hearing from Orange County School Board member Angie Gallo, who was elected in 2018 and is serving her first term. Angie has been volunteering in Orange County for over 20 years. She served as PTA president at the elementary, middle and high school levels and also sat on the Orange County Council of PTA/PTSA board of directors. In addition to PTA, Angie has served as School Advisory Committee (SAC) chair for East Lake Elementary and served on the SAC at Corner Lake Middle and East River High. She is also a graduate of the inaugural class (2010) of the OCPS Leadership Orange program. Most recently, she served as the Legislation Chair for Florida PTA.

Penelope, Princess of the Peacocks – VIRTUAL

See trough Our Eyes – Storytellers 18

 

When the camera is put in their hands, and intergenerational connections are made, the results are powerful and lasting. Storytellers 18 was originally unveiled in the Fall of 2019 at the African American Museum of the Arts in DeLand as all storytellers’ projects are first shown in their hometown.
Now on display at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center in Winter Park, this opening event includes a gallery talk by project creator and documentary photographer Peter Schreyer, and an opportunity to meet some of the Storytellers, project partners, and supporting Fellowship Artists at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.
Since 1996, the Crealde Storytellers Teen Documentary Photography Program has given photography instruction to students ages 13–17, providing the opportunity for self-expression while exploring the heritage of their community. From Orlando’s urban Parramore neighborhood to suburban Sanford and Apopka, to rural Geneva and coastal New Smyrna Beach, teens from around Central Florida have completed 18 photographic documentary exhibitions to date. Storytellers 17 and 18 projects were completed in Volusia County, and the finished exhibition is available to travel to museums, galleries, and community centers.

39th annual Juried Student Exhibition

 

The 39th annual Juried Student Exhibition consists of 95 pieces from 76 Crealdé students. This annual exhibition features some of the year’s best student work in painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. Works are selected by Crealdé’s program managers and awarded by a guest juror, David Fithian.

Wish You Were Here

 

This exhibition showcases the hotels and motels of Winter Park throughout the city’s history. Highlights include the lavish luxury hotels of the late 1800s, roadside family motels, tourist courts, and the boarding houses used by the workers who built Winter Park. All of these hotels and motels played a part to help create the Winter Park we know today.

The museum is only allowing 6 visitors at a time to maintain proper social distancing regulations for guest safety.

Join us for a live opportunity to connect with the Leadership Winter Park community. We will have time to network safely with LWP Alumni and also will share a brief presentation on the future of LWP and how you can be involved going forward.

Capacity is LIMITED to allow for social distancing. Please register to secure your attendance.
