Awakening: The Art of Ursula Shwartz

This month at the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens there will be displays of poerty and artwork by Ursual Shwartz. The exhibition starts October 1 and ends OCtober 27th. This introspective exhibit features a sampling of large-scale oil paintings created by contemporary artist Ursula Schwartz. She expresses her unique South African perspective through bold colors, energetic brush strokes, intimate portraits, metaphoric abstractions, and figurative work. Poetry written by the artist and her young son will accompany selected paintings. Visitors will be encouraged to tap into their own emotions and talents as they try their hand at writing poetry in the gallery’s “Poetry Corner.” Try it out and reflect upon the emotion contained in her paintings—you just may surprise yourself at what you discover!
