Under a canopy of majestic maple trees, the Stewart Park Festival in Downtown Heritage Perth brings together an eclectic variety of Canadian and International musicians for a great weekend of over 30 free outdoor concerts. The weekend has entertainment for everyone including children’s entertainment and an international food and artisans market.

Come on out to the Maberly Fairgrounds for “Pie in the Sky” taking place July 2, 2011. You will find homemade pies and a flea market. There is also be an opportunity to observe the sun through a high-powered telescope under the tutilege of Astronomer Fred Barrett.

On July 5th, 2011, 18 volunteers from across Canada and Honduras will come to Perth, Ontario to learn about community development, citizenship and food security using Perth as their classroom. In this program one Honduran is paired off with one Canadian and they live with host families in the community. We have had excellent support from the community already in filling the need for host families, but we are still searching for a family in and around the Perth area. The ever-evolving artists of the Rideau Lakes Studio and Garden Tour take great pride and pleasure to once again open our studios and invite the community to a unique show of local talent on July 2-3rd, 2011. This area is rich in artists and artisans, and we hope you will mark July 2nd & 3rd on your calenders. Come and explore the beautiful rural scenery, and discover a bit of history at the World Heritage Rideau Canal while sharing in the artists creativity, skills, and stories.

A pre-Finals anti-slam for fun, with a feature performance by spoken word artist Tomy “BAM BAM” Bewick, host of the Burlington SLam Project and founder of Open Minds Respect Events. Everyone is welcome to come out and try their hand in a spoken word poetry competition where breaking the rules is the whole point, and the intention is all about having fun and letting off steam. Taking place Sunday June 12, 2011 at 6:30pm at the Factory Grind in the Old Shoe Factory on Sherbrooke St. in Perth Ontario.
