December Food Truck Friday

Our December Food Truck Friday will be on the 9th. Make plans to join us from 5 – 9 p.m. at Town Hall.

Attendees can enjoy the sights and sounds of DJ Joe Magic, not to mention the culinary delights of many of central Florida’s most popular food trucks. We are thrilled to welcome the Celebration High School Jazz Band that evening.

Christmas Day!

Many Christians in Canada mark the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25, which is known as Christmas Day. It is a day of celebration when many Canadians exchange gifts and enjoy festive meals.

Many Canadians have a day off work on December 25 and many spend the day with close relatives or friends. It is customary to exchange gifts, enjoy a special festive meal and, perhaps, attend a special church service.

The traditions centered on Christmas gifts in Canada vary a lot between families. In some families, a mythical figure called Santa Claus brings gifts. He travels on a sleigh pulled by reindeer, enters homes via the chimney and leaves presents and candy in Christmas stockings or in a pile under the Christmas tree.

Symbols of Christmas Day

There are many symbols of Christmas. These include images of baby Jesus and the Holy family in the stable, stars and Christmas trees. Another important symbol of Christmas is Santa Claus. This is a mythical figure with origins in European, particularly British, Dutch and German, cultures. He is a jolly man who wears a red suit, has a long white beard, lives at the North Pole and travels in a sleigh pulled by reindeer.

The party, which runs from 8 – 9:30 p.m., will be held at the Terrace des Fleurs (located between the UK and France pavilions) and will offer a prime and up close location to view Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. In addition to an array of desserts, the party will also include premium wine and beer, as well as coffee, soft drinks and juices. The party is priced at $71 per person. There is a limited number of reservations available. Parking is included in the price.

Architects from the Celebration Foundation’s New Urbanism committee will be leading tours of Celebration on Saturday, November 5 and Saturday, November 12 in honor of Celebration’s 20th anniversary.

The tours will depart from Market Square by the fountain and will be about an hour long. Residents of all ages are invited to visit Hocus Pocus, as CROA presents movie night on the Great Lawn at Lakeside Park.

Hocus Pocus is scheduled for Thursday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. (weather permitting).

After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teenagers, a young girl and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches’ reign of terror once and for all.

Residents are encouraged to bring along a blanket or chair and enjoy an evening under the stars with their neighbors. This is a resident only event and a valid CROA ID must be presented.

Pink it up in the Town of Celebration on October 2, 2016 for the 4th Annual Pink on Parade Breast Cancer 5k! This year’s race is set at 7:30 a.m. at Florida Hospital Celebration Health.

Join us on a beautiful three-mile course through the quaint Town of Celebration as we rally for women battling breast cancer in our community. Whether you run or walk, gather your friends and wear your pinkest attire. All participants will receive an event shirt and bib complete with timing chip. All finishers will receive a customized Pink on Parade 2016 medal. Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers.

Generosity shared through this fun, family-friendly event will provide hope and healing for patients battling breast cancer at Florida Hospital. Join us for a fabulous morning of inspiration, motivation and plenty of surprises along the way!

The Porch & Yard Sale is right around the corner. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 1, as treasure hunters trek through the neighborhoods in search of that unique find. The sale runs from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Hidden Treasures from residents’ homes will be on sale throughout the community. Residents who live in condo, townhomes or garage apartments are invited to set up their sale items in Town Hall’s parking lot. Goodwill trucks will be at Town Hall at noon.

The cost to register is only $10 per household. This fee covers advertising, signage, lists and maps that help promote your sale.
