The Town of Celebration along with Celebration Area Council’s support will host the National Night Out & Community Fair on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 5-8pm. Celebration Area Council will be hosting a Lifestyle Fair at Town Hall from 5pm – 8pm during this event and have very carefully selected local businesses whose participation would enhance their exciting event while allowing you to showcase your products, office or business!

On July 4th, Celebration Town Center will travel back in time to the 1980’s. A time when Rubik’s cubes reigned supreme, big hair and leg warmers were in style, and the TV was dominated by such cultural classics as The A-Team, Magnum PI, Miami Vice and the loveable alien-Alf. The event begins at 5:00pm and the fireworks will get under way at 9:30 pm.

This year’s event will feature an 80’s costume contest, live music by Kattyshack and others throughout the night, a fireworks spectacular set to the theme of the 80’s best loved music, and a concert by 80’s icons- A Flock of Seagulls at 8:30pm.

There will be something for people of all ages as Town Center will have the interactive Kids Zone. The extended Kids Zone will feature an assortment of inflatables for kids and teens that will include a jousting area and more.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2011 kids and adults from Celebration are invited to come out to participate in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson. The inaugural WLSL event established the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson ever conducted in 2010 when almost 4,000 participants across 34 states, five countries and 3 continents participated to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to prevent drowning.

Thousands of kids and adults at aquatics facilities around the globe will unite to set a new global record for The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is the official headquarters location for the international event for the second year. For Celebration residents you can attend the event at the C.R.O.A. – Celebration Lakeside Park (631 Sycamore Street). The WLSL program works to promote drowning prevention through education. The Celebration Art & Wine Stroll returns on June 11, 2011 from 5:30pm -10:00pm. Enjoy beautiful and unique paintings as downtown Celebration becomes an outdoor art gallery. Artists will open their easels and invite onlookers to watch as they create oil paintings, charcoal sketches, watercolor, jewelry, knitted textile and more. New this year, participating restaurants, including Imperium Food & Wine on Main Street, will offer their favorite wines to buy and enjoy while patrons visit the artists and listen to live musical performances. Visitors are invited to sip wine and take their time perusing a number of the finest artists in the region.

Admission is free so come and enjoy this unique event!
