January will be quiet after our New Year’s celebrations, but we’ll kick off the new year with a country music cabaret.

Starting January 30, the Thousand Islands Playhouse will present the Classic Country- Cabaret Music Series. The series will run until February 1. Friday and Saturday the show starts at 8pm and finishes at 10pm. Sunday the show starts at 2:30pm.

Country music is extremely popular in this area and folks have been asking for more. We will again celebrate the songs and music from those classic country performers Hand Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Kenny Rogers and Shania Twain.

Planning for the Frost Fest has begun, if you would like to come and volunteer or help us plan this years activities then join us every Saturday starting at 9am in the Seeley’s Bay Retirement Home.

The Frost Fest promises to be the most fun you’ll have in February. There will be hockey games, outdoor activities and of courses places to go and get cozy and warm.

The Frost Fest takes place from February 5-7. Good fun for the whole family! Don’t miss out, come out and enjoy winter at the Seeley’s Bay Frost Fest.

St. Edwards Christian Women’s League is having a Christmas Craft Bazaar on December 6 from 9am-1:30pm in the St. Edward’s gymnasium. You’ll find artisan crafted Christmas decorations and fresh baked goodies.

Saturday, December 6th  2014- Westport Christmas Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rideau Vista Public School (9921 County Road 42), Westport. Come out to the picturesque Village of Westport and find that one of a kind gift for that special someone on your list.  The Christmas Market features local chefs, bakers, crafters, and artisans who will be showcasing a wide variety of unique handmade gift ideas. The Old Stone Mill and the Old Town Hall will be open as part of Lower Beverley Lake Park’s “Celebrating the Season” which features in excess of 75,000 Christmas lights. The candles will be burning in the Old Stone Mill with guides tours at 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The Old Town Hall will be open to provide some warmth. Come to the Old Stone Mill every Saturday this month until Saturday, December 20 and enjoy our seasonal activities. There will be caroling and of course lighted windows and Christmas decorations.

Six Beautiful Westport homes will open their doors on December 4 between 10:00am and 3:00pm for your visiting enjoyment. Come and visit these lovely homes all decked out in their Christmas finery and displaying wonderful items available at many of Westport’s businesses. Enjoy light refreshments and meet these superb hostesses: Judith Allen, Debbie Bird, Angela Elster (Stepping Stone), Cathy Hay, Lori Thronton and the Knox Presbyterian Church.
