2012 Christmas Carnival and Family Skate! December 8th

This is an annual production in which the skaters present pre-rehearsed group routines (and
some individual features/solos) in order to display the skating skills they have learned.

Old Stone Mill Delta Celebrating the Season

Old Stone Mill Delta OntarioThere are only two weeks remaining to see the Old Stone Mill in Delta, lit up with candles and wreaths (December 11 & 18th). People come from miles around to see this beautiful seasonal display. As one local business person wrote, “the Mill’s windows glow like small jewels on cold winter nights”. This delightful exhibit is held on Saturdays as part of the Delta Country Christmas and Celebrate the Season Festivities.

Join us for a tour of the Mill or Museum, hot chocolate and cookies.

Lyndhurst Santa Claus Parade

Santa ClausDon’t miss the Lyndhurst Santa Claus Parade coming up this weekend on November 20th at 2pm. This is a fun event for all ages. After the parade children are welcome to visit with Santa and have Free Candy!

All floats are still welcome and there is no pre-registration needed, so if you are interested in entering your float call 613-928-2786. Floats will be lining up on Oake St at 12:30 pm, there will be free hot chocolate and hot dogs for all participants. Cash prizes will be given to the floats based on these 7 categories: Best in town business, Best out of town business, Best horses, Best junior ogranization. Best senior organization, Funniest and Best private.

What a great way to start off the Christmas season…just as we are starting to hear Christmas songs on the radio, Santa himself is making an early guest appearance!

Christmas in the Rideau Lakes

There are several festive and fun events happening in the Rideau Lakes a surrounding areas this year. For a full list visit our events calendar.

Start November off right by taking some time to honour our veterans. There are Remembrance Day celebrations in most villages so be sure to attend the one happening closest to you.

Celebrating the Season DeltaQuickly get into the Christmas Spirit by attend the 6th Annual “Celebrating the Season” beginning November 20th! The Lower Beverley Lake Park Management Board invites you to enjoy the sights and sounds of Delta’s “Celebrating the Season”.

Bundle up for an evening stroll, or wagon ride around the Park to see the trees and buildings all magically lit, with over 45,000 lights. Christmas carols will be playing throughout the park with a Nativity and Dickens corner lit for your pleasure.

Stop by Santa’s workshop for a visit and a photo opportunity with Mr. & Mrs. Claus. Hot Chocolate and cookies will be provided.

Free wagon rides will be available throughout the park on half hour intervals between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Wagon rides will be available from the United Church, the Mill Museum, and from the Village Boat Launch which is located on the park entrance road.

Meals will be available each evening at the United Church starting at 4:00 p.m. Musical entertainment will be offered each evening at a village church starting at 6:30 p.m.

On November 28th in Elgin there will be a Sharing the Light of Christ event. Village residents, neighbours and visitors are all welcome to enjoy a walk-about the Village as travellers begin at one Church, light Christmas lights, begin the narrative of the Christmas Story, visit more community sites, sing carols, light more lights and end up together at the Community Hall for refreshments and celebration of the Holy Season.
