Brockville & 1000 Islands Doors Open May 26-27

The Old Stone Mill located in Delta Ontario will be a part of the Brockville and 1000 Islands Doors Open event taking place May 26-27, 2012. Some other local Rideau Lakes locations participating are: Green Gecko (Lyndhurst), Lyndhurst Historic Bridge, Township of Athens and Area Heritage Museum, Wendy’s Country Market (Lyndhurst), Wiltse Pioneer Cemetery (Athens), and Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle (Lyndhurst).

Ontario Artist In-House at the Green Gecko

Lyndhurst Gun Show & Ice Fishing Derby

Come to Lyndhurst on Sunday, February 26, 2012 for the Lyndhurst Gun & Militaria Show from 9am – 3pm. To get to Lyndhurst you take Hwy 15 to County Rd 33 and follow 33 to the Lyndhurst Legion.

Admission is $5 to buy, sell and trade. Any ladies and accompanied Children under 16 are FREE. Come out for Firearms, Ammunition, Knives, Military Antiques, and Hunting Gear & Fishing Tackle.

ALL FIREARM LAWS ARE TO BE OBEYED / TRIGGER LOCKS ARE REQUIRED

Taking place the same weekend – Saturday February 25, 2012 – is the 4th Annual Lyndhurst Ice Fishing Derby!

There will be cash & prizes for each type of largest fish. This event is open to ALL local lakes from 8am-5pm and the fish MUST be fresh. Fish to be weighed at the Bait Shop and Prizes to be Presented at the Lyndhurst Outdoor Education Centre (Next door to Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle)

Lyndhurst Turkey Fair 2011

The Lyndhurst Turkey Fair will be taking place September 17, 2011 in Lyndhust Ontario.

Every year, on the third Saturday in September, Lyndhurst’s population of roughly 300 residents swells to a bustling crowd of up to 5000. People come from near and far to enjoy the annual Lyndhurst Turkey Fair. Run by local volunteers, the event is reminiscent of a time when farmers would gather in the village to show and sell their finest poultry.

The free day of fun includes a quilt show, antique car show, craft sale, horse and wagon rides, an indoor garage sale, silent auction, golf tournament, live entertainment and several prize draws. The fair abounds with free activities for children such as a fishing contest, petting zoo, pony rides, games, carnival rides, crafts, a reptile show and more. Youths and adults also have the remarkable opportunity to race authentic St. Lawrence River Skiffs in Lyndhurst Creek. The proceeds from the Turkey Fair are given back to local charities and communities.

Come out to Sweet’s Corners Public School for “An Evening of Music” in Lyndhurst on Friday June 10, 2011 starting at 7pm. This event will be fun for the whole family!
