From July 15 – 19, bring your kids (ages 4 – 14) to Babylon Vacation Bible School from 9:30 am – 11:55 am for fun with games, music, drama, Bible exploration, and snacks. On July 13th, the Village of Elgin, Ontario will come together to celebrate Elgin Days. Join them for community wide yard sales, great music, tons of food, including a pancake breakfast, a farmers breakfast, and BBQs. Bring the kids out to get their faces painted and to get a balloon character while they wait for the afternoon parade. There will be great entertainment for the whole family! Celebrate Canada Day on June 29th with fireworks on Cow Island, presented by the Big Rideau Lake Association. Fireworks will be at dusk and can be viewed on water or land. Hanna Park on Water Street in Portland is an excellent place to view the spectacular fireworks. Lake 88.1 will broadcast announcements for this celebration. In case of rain, the fireworks will be moved to June 30th. Donations are kindly accepted.

On Saturday, May 25^th, join us for the 3^rd Annual Morton May Day. This is a community wide yard sale and tables can be rented from the Hall Board for only $10. Come out and spend the day to do some shopping, eat and maybe even a little kayaking on Morton Creek. Food will be served from 9 am – 2 pm and you can purchase soup, sandwiches, coffee, tea and other snacks.  All funds raised will go toward future renovations of Morton Community Hall. The Old Stone Mill will be hosting the Doors Open Brockville and Thousand Islands on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 from 10 am to 4 pm. This free event is an incredible opportunity to experience and celebrate the local heritage. Guests can take guided or self-guided tours of 37 sites in Athens, Brockville, Caintown, Delta, Escott, Lansdowne, Lyndhurst, Rockport, Lyn, Mallorytown, Maitland, and Prescott. Maps will be available at all participating locations. This year, there will be an Art Show and Sale sponsored by the Delta Mill Society. This will provide guests with the unique chance to meet local artists and purchase their artwork. Don’t miss out on the culture of Ontario!
