125th Anniversary Celebration in Winter Park FloridaOctober 12, 2012, marks the 125th anniversary of the incorporation of Winter Park. The city invites the community to join in the celebration of this momentous occasion at the following once-in-a-lifetime events:

Winter Park and Rollins College: 125 Years of Memories Opening Reception

1887 Ergood Hall Incorporation Meeting
In 1887, a meeting was held for the purpose of organizing a municipal government and incorporating the town of Winter Park in Ergood Hall which is now Penzeys Spices. City Commissioners will lead the community in a celebration of this historic meeting 125 years ago. Enjoy a slice of the city’s 125th birthday cake compliments of The Flour Shop; 102 N. Winter Park Residents Are Encouraged to Participate in the 2012 Fall Cleanup

Winter Park City-Wide Clean UpThe City of Winter Park is pleased to announce that in addition to the annual Spring Cleanup, the city also provides a Fall Cleanup during the month of October, just in time for the holiday season. This large-item pickup service will provide a ‘bonus’ day on which Waste Pro®, the city’s solid waste service provider, will pick up old furniture, broken appliances and other bulky items.

To take advantage of this convenient service, residents must place their items curbside after 5 p.m. on the evening before their second scheduled garbage & trash pickup day on their designated cleanup week. If you live north of the Fairbanks/Aloma avenues corridor, your bonus pick-up will be the week of October 8. If you live south of the Fairbanks/Aloma avenues corridor, your bonus pick-up will be the week of October 15.

Please Note: Hazardous waste, electronics and yard waste are NOT included in the Fall Cleanup.
