Carleton Place’s old fashioned Community Picnic

Our annual family picnic! This year, join us on July 16 as we “Picnic Like It’s 1916”. Join the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum on July 16th for an Old Fashioned Community Picnic.
Spend the afternoon in the Victoria School Gardens and enjoy an old fashioned community picnic! We are also offering two walking tours guided by local author Linda Seccaspina!
Bring a blanket and find a shady spot in the Victoria School Garden to eat your picnic. Treats and beverages will be available at a small cost. Live music, historical displays and visitors from the past make for an enjoyale afternoon. Dress in costume, or try on an outfit at our dress-up station.
This year you will be treated to the Carleton Place and District Horticultural Society’s Summer Flower Show, taking place inside the Museum. If you’ve never been to a flower show, you must see this! Decorative categories this year honour the Museum building’s past. They include “Teacher’s Pet” and Prisoner Behind Bars”!!

The soccer field will host our many exhibitors. New to this year’s event, will be included a variety of Cottage friendly exhibits. On display will be almost every make of 2011 fishing boats and motors. The information you can get on all the products is free and they will be more than happy to help you decide what is best to meet your needs.
