Writers Festival Launch Party Fundraiser

 

Join us at the Thousand Islands Playhouse Firehall Theatre as we launch our 2017 season with period food and frivolity in celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary. Enjoy readings with Lindy Mechefske, author of Sir John’s Table, live music and dancing with Turpin’s Trail, and a guest appearance with none other than Sir John A himself.

It will be a night not to be missed in tribute to the rascal, lawyer, politician, food, beverage and book lover who helped draw us all together as a nation.

Giant Easter Egg Hunt at the Cornerstone Church

 

 

The Cornerstone Church is inviting children aged 0-12 to their Giant Easter Egg Hunt on April 15th. There will be over 10,000 eggs! The event starts at 10:30. – bouncy castles have already been reserved from Par-T-Perfect (proceeds support Boys and Girls Club).

There will be two castles: a small jumper for the 0-4 years old and an obstacle course style bouncer for the older kids. – A quick introduction to our Summer VBS program will be done so that parents know when the camp is occurring and can plan it into their schedules early – we have doubled the number of chocolate eggs due to the amazing turn out last year

– there will be free give-aways at each of the four ministry tables (men, women, youth and children) – there will be gift certificates that have been donated from local businesses (ie. Silver Cinemas, etc) and t-shirts being given away in “raffle/draw” format  – for the adults, there will be coffee coupons from McDonald’s and tea coupons from David’s Tea (in Kingston) being given away at the end of the event – the cafe will be open with snacks, coffee, tea, water, juice…

We will begin our practice with a heart-based slow-flow: connecting to breath and creating space/receptivity in our bodies, and will end with a sound bath set to the crystal singing bowls, voice + other healing instruments.
