SPENCER EVANS was born in Picton, grew up around the Quinte area, and graduated from B.C.I. Spencer plays piano, clarinet, accordion, sings, dances, prances and has been a professional musician for the past 15 years. He has played Bermuda to Bosnia, New Orleans to the North Pole, and has recorded and toured with The Cowboy Junkies, Sarah Harmer and Pat Temple, and has performed with Jeff Healey, Dan Aykroyd, Willie P. Bennett, Jack Mahieu, Alex Pangman, Maria Muldaur, and Toronto’s Swing Gang, among countless others. Spencer has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CBC Radio’s The Vinyl Cafй with Stuart McLean, MUCHmusic and CMT. A resident of Kingston for several years, Spencer keeps busy playing with numerous local bands such as Bloom, Pico de Gallo, Ghetto Xpress, The River Cats and various jazzy combos. 
SEAMUS COWAN plays the low bass and sings the high notes…Kind of strange but it works. Has played all kinds of music in his career so he fits right in. 
ROB RADFORD has a solid synergy with the boys. His drumming is some of the best around and his ferocity is difficult to tame, behind the kit that is.
Together, the trio are a powerful combination. Enjoy them weekly in the summer months!

The return of TERRY TUFTS, Folk Legend! Terry is an accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist, as well as working as a session musician and sideman for a variety of artists including Tom Paxton, David Francey, Ian Tamblyn, The Arrogant Worms, Wayne Rostad, Susan Aglukark, and George Fox. He has 7 albums. He blends a well-traveled personal history into music without boundaries. He blew the socks off our place at the Canadian Songwriter Summit. His partner KATHRYN BRIGGS released her debut CD entitled “Small Awakenings”, produced by Ian Tamblyn. Listeners find themselves transported to a space of peace and healing.

Should be more than once a year but these nights have really turned into something special. Chris and Luther have worked together for years now and Tom helped inspire Seamus back in the day. It’s all coming together now. 
CHRIS BROWN has produced a who’s who of Canadian talent and started with the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir and has been a part of Chris & Kate Fenner duo for a long time. 
SEAMUS COWAN is from Westport and his family run The Cove. His bands Bullmoose and Spoon River experienced considerable CanRock longevity and he has played with Spencer Evans and Jazz Night for close to two decades. Notably, he toured with The High Dials of Montreal for two years. 
TOM SAVAGE is a road warrior, songwriter a la Dylan-esque stories. Plays guitar with Hendrix poise and Neil intensity. His band Tom Savage Trio have toured Canada lots and the new Foley Mountain Playboys are his bluegrass gem.
LUTHER WRIGHT is a Canadian folk/bluegrass hero. His band Luther Wright & The Wrongs cross many boundaries, states and provinces. The recreated Floyd’s The Wall and have toured for about 2 decades now. The Hootenannys he does with Jenny Whiteley and others are legendary.

The Wesport Centre for Creative Learning is pleased to inform you of a rare and aspirational event taking place at the WCCL, the renowned Afiara Quartet will be giving two performances at the former Stepping Stone Inn. This is an opportunity you will not want to miss. The Afiara Quartet is a dynamic and award-winning ensemble, described as “a revelation” (La Presse) with performances balancing “intensity and commitment” and “frequent moments of tenderness” (Montreal Gazette). After residencies at The Juilliard School and San Francisco State University, the Afiara are currently Fellowship Quartet at the Royal Conservatory of Music. The ensemble is winner of the Young Canadian Musicians Award, Concert Artist Guild, Munich ARD, and Banff International String Quartet Competitions, including the latter’s Szekely Prize for the best interpretation of Beethoven. The Afiara has performed throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia, at such venues as Carnegie Hall’s Zankel and Weill Halls, the Kennedy Center, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Library of Congress in DC, Sao Paulo’s Museum of Modern Art, Pro Musica of San Miguel de Allende, London’s Wigmore Hall, Austria’s Esterhazy Palace, Munich’s Prinz Regenten Theatre, Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw, and the Royal Library in Copenhagen. Their relentless pursuit of beauty and discovery is documented in over 25 commissions of new music, new educational outreach initiatives for school children funded by the Ontario Arts Council, and projects with jazz virtuoso Uri Caine, Latin Grammy Award-winning producer Javier Limon, and ground-breaking scratch DJ, Kid Koala. The Afiara String Quartet takes it’s name from the Spanish ‘fiar’ meaning ‘to trust’ a basic element of the depth and joy of it’s music making.  Truly a unique event well worth attending.

Blues On The Rideau – the famous Dinner & Show Fundraiser Series featuring some of Canada’s best Blues artists which takes place once a month every year from October through May (excluding December) at The Cove Country Inn & Spa in Westport, Ontario – just announced their 2014/15 Line-Up – their 10th Anniversary season!

“We are very pleased with this year’s Line-Up” says James Doran, Producer of the Series. “It’s a combination of some of the most popular bands to have ever played BOTR – Fathead, Jack de Kezyer, The Hogtown Allstars, Paul Reddick and David Rotundo – plus a couple of great acts that have never been here before – Vancouver’s Harpdog Brown and the Paul James Band from Toronto. All of these artists have either won or been nominated for Juno and/or Maple Blues Awards in the past. They really are the cream of the crop and it’s wonderful to be able to see and dance to them up close and personal in the intimate setting of The Cove Inn”.

Seamus Cowan, Manager of The Cove Inn and an excellent musician himself said “It’s hard to believe that this little Series that started 10 years ago has grown into what it is today. We are known for our great regular LIVE music at The Cove and Blues On The Rideau is the jewel in the crown. You would normally have to go to a big city to hear bands of this caliber. We’re honoured to provide such high quality entertainment to our customers at such a reasonable price – and raise money for the community at the same time. We thank James & Diane Doran from Choose The Blues Productions for bringing BOTR to The Cove and keeping it going all these years”.

Despite cost increases the price for these nights remains at $60 pp this year (the same for the past 3 years). That includes a delicious full course buffet dinner, the show and dancing. Proceeds from all BOTR nights go to support different local Westport charities. The Series has raised over $50,000 for the community over the past 9 years and the goal is to hit another $5K this season.
