Call 1-800-928-2250 Ext 285 for more information.  Thank you to our dedicated volunteers who “pitch-in” each year. Your efforts truly make Rideau Lakes a welcome community! Pitch in Week will take place from April 17 to April 30, 2016.

Pitch-In Week in Rideau Lakes

It’s time once again for Pitch-In Week here in the Rideau Lakes Township, and this year’s annual clean-up event takes kicks off today, the 19th of April, until this Sunday on the 25th.

‘Pitch-In Week’ is part of the national campaign ‘Pitch-In Canada’, which sets aside one week during the springtime season where volunteers from the different communities all over the country come together to clean their surroundings.

The Township of Rideau Lakes is a recognized member of the Pitch-In Canada network, and is grateful to the community for keeping Rideau Lakes clean and green.

With the winter season finally over, the litter and garbage hidden by the snow now becomes a clear eyesore, giving Rideau Lakes’ residents more of a reason to get out and start cleaning. You can get your pitch-in bags for free at the Township’s office, post office, and local library. You can also call the office to list down your name as an official volunteer.

For the next 2 weeks, the township is requesting that you place your pitch-in bags, which are colored yellow, out on the curb together with your regular garbage during the scheduled collection days.

So what’re you waiting for? Get a yellow bag and start collecting trash for the community!

Township of Rideau Lakes Holds Pitch-In Week Next Month

The Township of Rideau Lakes Council recently announced the 19th to the 25th of April as the township’s Pitch-In Week.

“Pitch-In Canada”, a national non-profit and charitable organization, hopes that local groups and volunteers from different communities from all across the country try to set aside one week during the Spring as “Pitch In Week”, where community members go out and help keep their areas and neighborhoods cleaner and greener.

The Township of Rideau Lakes is an officially recognized member by Pitch-In Canada, and is thankful to the exemplary work its volunteers have shown in making the region better.

Spring is fast approaching, and that means tons of work cleaning up the mess left by the winter season. Pitch-In volunteers are requested to drop by the township office, library, or post office to get their free pitch-in yellow bags. You can call the office to register for the event.

Collected garbage can be placed inside the bags, which will be collected on the regular scheduled days.

Again, Pitch-In Week takes place on April 19 to 25. Let’s help one another in keeping Rideau Lakes a better and cleaner community to live in. Call the township office and register now.
