Coffee Talk – September Date

Coffee Talk resumes this fall with only one date in September.  Join your local government over a cup of coffee at the Winter Park Welcome Center on Thursday September 12. Come and discuss Winter Park over a cup of joe with the Mayor. Bring your ideas, thoughts and concerns to be discusses in a relaxed setting. This is also a great opportunity to meet your local government officials as the City Commission will also be attending the Coffee talk.

Coffee Talk is brought to you by the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, “Good Morning Winter Park” series. This event takes place August 9 and as always is held at the Winter Park Welcome Center, 151 West Lyman Ave.

Full Sail university is having a meet and greet at the Full Sail Live July 29, 2013 from 6-7pm. Network with new and current students, make friends, meet staff and faculty members. Student clubs will man tables to share information and recruit new members. Local restaurants will be there with samples from their menu.

COFFEETALK IS THE CUP FOR YOU!

WINTER PARK, Fla., an internationally recognized ICMA Excellence Award winner with accredited fire, police and parks & recreation agencies (June 18, 2013) – The first COFFEETALK of the 2013 season featuring Vice-Mayor Sarah Sprinkel will be held Thursday, July 11, at 8 a.m., at the Winter Park Welcome Center located at 151 W. Lyman Ave.

Initiated in 2005, COFFEETALK has become the place for citizens that have “a latte beans to grind” or who simply want to “espresso their thoughts.”  The purpose of COFFEETALK is to give citizens the opportunity to talk to their city leaders in a more casual, informal environment and avoid the stage fright that is often experienced at large meetings.

Mayor Kenneth Bradley’s COFFEETALK will be held Friday, August 9, in conjunction with the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning Winter Park! at the Winter Park Welcome Center. Networking begins at 7:45 a.m. and the Mayor’s COFFEETALK will begin at 8 a.m.

18th Annual Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

CITY OF WINTER PARK’S 18TH ANNUAL
OLDE FASHIONED 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION

WINTER PARK, Fla., an internationally recognized ICMA Excellence Award winner with accredited fire, police and parks & recreation agencies (June 25, 2013) –

The City of Winter Park will present their 18th annual Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Central Park. Mayor Ken Bradley will lead a special presentation at 9:15 a.m. from the main stage. Wear your red, white and blue, bring a blanket or beach chair, and gather with family and friends to enjoy this Winter Park tradition.

The annual celebration will feature live patriotic music performed by the Bach Festival Brass Band and Bach Festival Choir, horse-drawn wagon rides, Orlando Cloggers, Rockin’ Roadster Road Show and much more! Children’s activities will include the annual bicycle parade at 9 a.m. (lineup begins at 8:30 a.m.) from City Hall to Central Park, as well as fun games and inflatables. Free hot dogs, watermelon and water will available for all to enjoy, while supplies last. Families and friends are also invited to stroll along Park Avenue and Hannibal Square to shop and dine at the wide selection of shops and eateries.

In addition, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will present their Independence Day Open House. The museum, which is home to the world’s most comprehensive collection of work by American artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, will provide FREE admission to its galleries from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please note that City Hall will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. City offices will re-open at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 5. The City of Winter Park wishes everyone a safe and happy Independence Day.

Kentucky Derby Party at Winter Park

Winter Park’s greatest Kentucky Derby Party with the theme “The Hats. The Horses. The Hoopla.” is bringing in great food and entertainment this Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 3:00 in the afternoon. The event is sponsored by Leadership Winter Park Class XXII to benefit Welbourne Avenue Nursery & Kindergarten.

 

There is non-stop fun and classic chow and beverages at Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center. Activities such as 50/50 betting, Silent Auction, Kentucky Derby Show were prepared and everybody enjoyed tremendously. The Hat contest and the Best-Dressed Couple Contest definitely set everyone in the derby mood. Aside from the games and contests, guests are greatly entertained by “The Mikes” and “Matt Shenk” over appetizers and an open bar.

 

Childcare Services were available at Welbourne Avenue Nursery & Kindergarten. For the event, they are charging $15 for one child and $25 for multiple children. If you want to extend time, they are available until 9:00 PM for an additional $5.

 

There is no shortage of amusement and food at the Kentucky Derby Party – a great evening of jockeys, big hats and juleps!

Unity Heritage Festival ~January 20th ~ Event in Winter Park, FL

Celebrate The City of Winter Park’s 125th Anniversary!

Come to the 11th annual Unity Heritage Festival

The Event begins Sunday, January 20th, 2013. 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM

We’ll be at Shady Park at Hannibal Square (corner of Pennsylvania and New England avenues)
And best of all, the event is FREE!

The wonderful community of Winter Park will come together for the 11th annual Unity Heritage Festival on Sunday and Monday. This celebration will promote family history and raise money for the Educational Fulfillment Fund for local economically disadvantaged youth. The festival will have fun for the whole family. Including children’s games, food and retail vendors, entertainment by various gospel artists, and then there will be a presentation of the annual Heritage Award.

Do not miss out on this great event. It is a festival the entire family can enjoy!
