The Stewart Park Festival attracts the best food and artisan vendors in the area. You can expect to find everything from photography, furniture and jewellery to clothing and craft.
The festival runs from Friday, July 18 until Sunday, July 20. This year our festival is even bigger thanks to the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario. Our festival now includes fabulous children’s shows and family fun, there truly is something for everyone!

Rideau Lakes Studio and Garden Tour

ID-10010495One of the longest running tours in Eastern Ontario, The Rideau Lakes Studio and Garden Tour continues to attract new artists while maintaining a core of favorites with collectors.

Located in the heart of the Rideau Lakes district concentrated around the villages of Portland, Philipsville and Chaffey’s Locks, the 2014 tour will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 4th, 5th and 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

At some studios you will meet surprise guest artists who are unadvertised but are invited by their hosts. The goal is to have more than one artist at each stop to make your tour experience more enjoyable. You will find paintings, candles, quilts, pottery, cast stone sculptures, weaving and woodworking for your home and garden.

ceThe 27th Annual Perth Antiques Show will be held July 5th and 6th, 2014.Dealers from as far away as Quebec and Western Ontario will offer a broad range of quality antiques including fine examples of art, china, glass, silver, textiles, jewellery, brass, tools, furniture, folk art and decorative accessories as well as popular Retro and nostalgic collectibles.Dealers are set up in the air-conditioned hall and outside under tents along the picturesque tree lined Tay Canal.The historic and beautiful town of Perth, in the Rideau Lakes district of Eastern Ontario, is a great location for an antiques show. Tourists can enjoy the event amidst historic architecture, restaurants, shops and factory outlets.

Heritage Mica Days-Canada Day at the Beach

ID-10098086Join us to celebrate Canada’s birthday on the main beach of Murphys Point Provincial Park. Enjoy a hot dog and some
Canada Day cake. The Richmond Ramblers Bluegrass Band will provide entertainment under the tent.  Story readings for ages 6 and under and face painting for all ages round out the day. Complimentary ice cream coupons available to anyone who dresses in red and white or in heritage costume (how about a heritage bathing suit?).  Dogs are not permitted in the beach area. The site is wheelchair accessible. Small fee charged for the hot dogs and donations welcomed for the face painting.

A valid Ontario Parks vehicle day use pass, seasonal pass or camping permit is required for park entry. Your park entry permit can be purchased at the main park gate.

The Richmond Ramblers Bluegrass Band is a group of 8 musicians playing predominantly bluegrass music with a mix of classic country. The talent in the group is steeped with years of musical experience including a formally trained and award winning fiddler. Instrumentation includes fiddle, bass fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, mouth harp, lead male vocal, and harmonies.

Festivities start at 10:00 AM.
