BarnDoor Productions: The Admirable Crichton

Playing at Full Circle Theatre, and presented by Barn Door Productions, “THE ADMIRABLE CRICHTON” plays October 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 at 8pm, and October 13, 20 and 27 at 2pm. J.M. Barrie, of course, wrote Peter Pan and some see this earlier play as a sort of warm-up for that – a group of upper crust Brits (and their servants) arrive on a dessert island to find that tables can be turned. A delightful, laugh-out-loud comedy. Think of Gilligan’s Island with British accents, and a touch of Downton Abbey thrown in! It’s the most genteel of class wars, and it involves a lot of tea!

Reserved tickets $20; Door $22; Students $10; payment by cash at performance.

About Logan Brown:

Logan Brown is a performer, guitarist, and singer, in that order. Performing for the first time in early 2014 Logan has been averaging between 250-300 shows annually on stages ranging from DIY tarp-and-peg flooring to RBC Bluesfest(2017-2018 with Taylor Angus) and everything in-between.
Blending his ever-expansive “human jukebox” repertoire with his own recognizable style, Logan has created original arrangements and interpretations of everyone’s favourite popular music. From Stevie Wonder to Billie Eilish, Van Morrison to Bruno Mars, Tom Petty to Drake, Logan is taking on full-band arrangements all with one acoustic guitar, one voice, and a memorable live performance.

About RedFox:

RedFox is a five piece indie-folk band from Montreal, Quebec. The band was formed in September of 2017 when folk duo Jono Townsend and Tim Loten relocated to Montreal and joined up with vocalist/fiddle player Daphnee Vandal. After months of honing their sound, and the addition of drummer Sam Neumann as well as bassist Sam Robinson their sound was transformed into the ambient high-energy experience that it is. An ensemble led by Daphnee Vandal’s dynamic voice backed by bass, drums, guitar, fiddle, and banjo, RedFox retains their acoustic roots origins, while exploring more electric sounds. The group can trace their influences back to bands such as Punch Brothers, Half Moon Run, and Paramore.

Perth Citizen’s Band Concert

A series of Summer Pops Concerts at the Perth Legion that continues on throughout the summer! All concerts are FREE to the public and are held in historic Stewart Park just behind the Perth Town Hall.

The Perth Citizens’ Band has been an integral part of the musical and cultural heritage of the Town of Perth since 1852 and is the oldest continuously operating band in Canada. The continuity of the band from 1852 has been recorded in a book entitled, “ Sound the Trumpet “ written by local archivist, Daphne Overhill, published in 2002.

The free concerts in Stewart Park are performed every other Thursday at 7:30 PM starting in the second week of June through the third week of August and include a Strawberry Social starting at 7 PM for the second concert. The band does a number of parades throughout the year including the Perth Fair Parade, parades for various local celebrations in other towns and typically four Santa Claus Parades in various towns. A major part of the bands funding for operating expenses comes from these parades. The band also does an annual Christmas concert, an annual “ Last Night At The Proms Concert ” plus a number of other concerts during each year.

In Concert May 13 – Christine Graves and Kate Weekes

A superb night of original music from two established songwriters. Both have new stories and sweet voices to share in this beautiful venue. One night only!

Christine Graves and Kate Weekes are singer-songwriters with roots in the Perth area. Kate is originally from Smiths Falls and has spent the past decade living in the Yukon Territory. For the winter of 2017, Kate’s adventures took her to Norway where she was working as a wilderness guide with a team of 52 sled dogs. Christine lived in Balderson for 15 years, often writing songs that reflected the Lanark landscape and life. She now resides in Ottawa.

The two songwriters carry an affinity for rural Canada and have teamed up to share an evening of song in concert. They will be accompanied by James Stephens on fiddle and Franc van Oort on guitars.
