Sick Kids Benefit Dance

The Fabulous BelAirs and ART Audio have generously donated their time & services towards a Benefit Dance at the Toledo Legion.

In support of Kael – Age 6, who requires a Bone Marrow Transplant before his health deteriorates and his brother Eamon – Age 4, who is the donor. Surgery is tentatively scheduled for late October at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

So come on out and enjoy an evening of 50s & 60s entertainment at

Rideau Lakes Library and Computer Training

Your local branch of the Rideau Lake Library System offers services in computer and library training. Book an appointment with your local branch to learn anything from the basics to learning how to use e-resources.

The Rideau Lakes Library System also offers iPad and tablet workshops. Bring your iPad or tablet to the library and how to use your new device, and the differet functions your device offers.

Furthermore, we also offer Skype and Facetime workshops. Library staff will give instruction and answer questions on these related topics.

Rideau Lakes Book Clubs

From your local branch of the library comes, the book club. Each branch of the Rideau Lakes Library System has a book club and are open for new members. The library provides 60 book club sets, you may obtain your choices through the interlibrary loan.

Annual Garden Show

The Annual Garden Show will be
presented on August 24, 2013 at the Elgin Municipal Complex. This beautiful show is sponsored by the Rideau Lakes Horticultural Society and the competition is open to all members of the Rideau Lakes Township. For those participating in the competition, entries need to be placed in the hall between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. Then, doors will be closed for judging. At 2 pm, the doors will reopen for viewing. At 4 pm, winners will be announced.

Elgin Days

On July 13th, the Village of Elgin, Ontario will come together to celebrate Elgin Days. Join them for community wide yard sales, great music, tons of food, including a pancake breakfast, a farmers breakfast, and BBQs. Bring the kids out to get their faces painted and to get a balloon character while they wait for the afternoon parade. There will be great entertainment for the whole family! Elgin Days July 14-15

You will find village wide yard sales, music, bake sales, displays and more during Elgin Days taking place July 14-15, 2012 in Elgin Ontario.

Farmers Breakfast at the Elgin Municipal Complex Community Hall and instant win tickets & prizes. This year we are introducing a Sports Day theme that will host activities in the rink for children of all ages – lacrosse, badminton and more. Even some heritage – aged activities. There will be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and beach volleyball tournament at the high school starting around 9am.

Musical entertainment begins around 11am beside the Red Brick School House with local talent playing. Join the volunteers who look after the outdoor rink for a BBQ at the rink. The annual fire-fighters Elgin Day Parade is at 2pm. Then from 3 to 5pm music by “Johnny 5” as we gather for the evening chicken BBQ at the fire hall followed by a dance at the Lions hall running from 8 to midnight.

Sunday – The day begins at 10am with the third annual Show & Shine at the South Crosby Public School parking lot followed by an afternoon euchre tournament starting at 1pm in the Elgin Community Hall and an evening ecumenical church service at 7pm. Call Cliff for more information at 613-387-2523.

Elgin Lions Craft Show

The Elgin Lions Craft Show will be held at the Rideau District High School Saturday, November 26th, 2011 starting at 9:00am to 4:00pm. Artisans, woodworking, jewellery, toys, handmade clothing, design items and so much more. Enjoy a lunch and support our Lions Club.

8th Annual Easter Seals Horseshoe Tournament

Elgin OntarioAttention One And All… Come On Out To Our 8th Annual Easter Seals Horseshoe Tournament held Saturday July 9th, 2011 beside the Elgin Lions Hall in Elgin Ontario.

Registration: Singles @ 9am with starting time @ 10am. Doubles @ 12pm with starting time @1pm.

Cost is only $10.00 Per Registration. All Proceeds Go To Easter Seals Send A Kid To Camp Campaign. It cost $2,000.00 to send a child to Camp Merrywood in Perth, Ontario for 10 days. We help support 40 kids in the Leeds and South Grenville areas. So dig out your old horseshoes and come help support our cause and have a fun time with lots of prizes to be won. There will also be a canteen provided.

Elgin Days Village Festival

Elgin OntarioElgin Days is a village wide celebration for Elgin Ontario. This includes a community yard sale, farmer’s breakfast, air castles for the kids, pancakes, California BBQ, games, music, parade and chicken BBQ on Saturday. Then on Sunday enjoy the vintage and newer model show & shine, Grass Hogs lawn mower races, BBQ and more. Elgin Days will be held July 9-10, 2011.
