Mayor Luncheon

This is an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable achievements of our community and look forward to the year ahead. Mayor Kenneth W. Bradley will deliver his final State of the City Address, “The Best is Yet to Come.” In addition to the Mayor’s address, the luncheon will feature the City of Winter Park Employee of the Year presentations.

Winter Park Executive Women

ceWomen Empowering Women in Business. “Together we represent a wealth of knowledge readily available for the best business solutions and your greatest success.”

This women-only Solutions Group at the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, Winter Park Executive Women is a forum for members to network in a professional, yet informal atmosphere.  Discussions include business solutions, as well as personal growth topics.  The monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of every month (with few exceptions) over lunch.  The cost for lunch is $20 for Chamber members or $25 for non-Chamber members. All late registrations and walk-ins will be charged $25.

CITY OF WINTER PARK’S 18TH ANNUAL
OLDE FASHIONED 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION

WINTER PARK, Fla., an internationally recognized ICMA Excellence Award winner with accredited fire, police and parks & recreation agencies (June 25, 2013) –

The City of Winter Park will present their 18th annual Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Central Park. Mayor Ken Bradley will lead a special presentation at 9:15 a.m. from the main stage. Wear your red, white and blue, bring a blanket or beach chair, and gather with family and friends to enjoy this Winter Park tradition.

The annual celebration will feature live patriotic music performed by the Bach Festival Brass Band and Bach Festival Choir, horse-drawn wagon rides, Orlando Cloggers, Rockin’ Roadster Road Show and much more! Children’s activities will include the annual bicycle parade at 9 a.m. (lineup begins at 8:30 a.m.) from City Hall to Central Park, as well as fun games and inflatables. Free hot dogs, watermelon and water will available for all to enjoy, while supplies last. Families and friends are also invited to stroll along Park Avenue and Hannibal Square to shop and dine at the wide selection of shops and eateries.

In addition, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will present their Independence Day Open House. The museum, which is home to the world’s most comprehensive collection of work by American artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, will provide FREE admission to its galleries from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please note that City Hall will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. City offices will re-open at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 5. The City of Winter Park wishes everyone a safe and happy Independence Day.

Pumpkins and Munchkins in Shady ParkThe Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Winter Park will present Pumpkins & Munchkins in Shady Park on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in Shady Park, adjacent to the Winter Park Community Center at 721 West New England Avenue.

Munchkins of all ages are invited to attend this FREE family-friendly event. Fun-filled activities will include games, bounce houses, a costume contest, Trick-or-Treat Trail and safe Halloween fun for everyone. If inclement weather tries to dampen the evening, the event will be moved into the Winter Park Community Center.

Winter Park FL Events – March 20-22, 2009, Come and Enjoy a Great Event!

The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival takes place in Central Park, along Park Avenue, in Winter Park, Florida.
Festival Hours: 9am to 6pm on Friday March 20th and Saturday, March 21st and 9am to 5pm on Sunday March 22nd.

The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of the nation’s oldest, largest and most prestigious outdoor art festivals, consistently rated among the top shows by Sunshine Artist and American Style magazines. Each year more than 350,000 visitors enjoy the show. This year about 1,200 artists from around the world applied for entry and an independent panel of judges selected 225 national and international artists to attend the show. The National Endowment for the Arts, The White House, Congress and many others have lauded the Festival for promoting art and art education in Central Florida. An all volunteer board of directors runs the annual Festival, now celebrating its 50th year. Come out to this event to enjoy a wide variety of outstanding artwork including media such as clay, digital art, drawing and graphics, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, watercolor and wood.

The entire family can take pleasure at The Winter park Sidewalk Art Festival. Your children can create their own artwork at the Children’s Workshop Village. Easel painting is very popular and local art centers and museums feature a variety of fun, hands-on, art activates for children. Participating museums include: Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Cornell Museum of Fine Art, Crealde School of Art, Maitland Art Center, The Mennello Museum of American Folk Art, Orlando Museum of Art, and Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts.

Admission is free, and participants may keep what they make. Children’s Workshop Village hours are 10 am to 4 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Easel painting is from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Come out to Central Park, enjoy some beautiful artwork, take in some gorgeous weather and have a great family day with loved ones. You can do it all at The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.
