Fourth Annual Lansdowne Textile Festival

 

Come and enjoy the vision and feel of hand crafted art. See spinners, weavers, quilters, rug hookers, needles crafters, and more showcase their skills. Feel the softness of the rovings and the colourful hand dyed wool. Finished products, wool, kits and accessories are waiting to tempt you!

Come and see spinners, weavers, rug hookers, quilters and many more artisans demonstrate their art and sell their products. Lunch will be available for purchase by the Lansdowne Women’s Institute. June Flower Show and Tea Room

 

A Gananoque Horticultural Society event.

The Annual Gananoque Horticultural Society Plant Show will be held on Saturday June 16 at Carveth Multi Purpose room Gananoque from 1 pm to 3 pm. Come out to see beautiful flowers and floral arrangements from member gardens. Enjoy a cup of tea and sweet in our complimentary tea room.

Ride for Rescue

Motorcycle ride/poker run Saturday Jun 15, starting at our shelter, 85 Hwy 32 just north of Gan and the 401. Kick-stands up at noon. $20 includes BBQ & prizes at Gan patio to be determined.

D Day Anniversary

 

Thursday 6 Jun 2019 will mark the 75th anniversary of D Day when the Allied landed on the coast of Normandy, France, and began their long-awaited and costly liberation of Europe. 14,000 Canadians soldiers landed at Juno Beach. Landing at other beaches were British and American soldiers. The fighting in Normandy lasted until 23 August when the German army began its withdrawal from France. Among the 4,915 Canadians killed in Normandy were eight Gananoque area men:

Citizens are invited to a short ceremony 11 am Thursday 6 June at the Gananoque War memorial to mark D Day and are invited to a Legion Open House following the ceremony at which snacks will be available.

Leaf and Yard Waste Cleanup

Residents are asked to place leaves and yard wast at the edge of the street or alley no later than 7 am on the date below.

  • West Ward (All West of the King Street Bridge) – April 29th – May 3rd
  • South Ward (All South of King Street & East of the King Street Bridge) – May 6th – May 10th
  • North Ward (All North of King Street & East of the King Street Bridge) – May 13th – May 18th.

Each street and alley will be picked up ONLY ONCE

The works yard will be open for brush, leaves and yard waste drop off on Wednesday and Saturdays from 8 am – 12 pm at the James A. Brennan Road Entrance starting May 1st, 2019. The Town has closed the entrance from Charles Street, North. Biodegradable paper bags must be used. Plastic bags, loose leaves and loose yard waste will not be picked up.
