Family Hike at Perth Wildlife Reserve

ID-100122858This Saturday, March 15 at 1pm, a 3km Family Hike will be held at the Perth Wildlife Reserve (100 Wildlife Rd) as part of the March Break activities for children and families.

Appropriate for children of most age groups. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for all weather; no fee for hike, but parking is $6 per vehicle. No pets.

St Patrick’s Day Dinner and Dance

This is an Irish Ceilidh for the whole family. Silent auction. Tickets are $25 for adults, ages 12 and under free.

March Break Camp

marchbreakMaple Key Day Camp is featuring this March Break a one-week version of their summer program for children aged 4-12 years.

Campers are grouped by age for a fun-filled week of activities including sports, arts & crafts, cooperative games, mad science, special themed activities, and creative/aerobic movement.

Kids will participate in some outdoor activities each day (weather permitting). As always, the program is led by experienced educators with an overall ratio that never exceeds 1:6.

There are discounts available for families, prices include lunch program, and free extended care from 7:30am-5:30pm. Cost is $160 for the week.

Perth Studio Theatre Presents: Leaving Home

Studio Theatre Perth“Leaving Home” is about a Newfoundland family who moves to another province and quickly finds themselves in over their head. Jacob Mercer and his family, transplanted to Toronto. The story takes place in the 1950′s, 15 years after the big move.

Examine family relationships and values in this feel good drama.

Valentine’s Big Band Gala

Big Band GalaGrab your dancing shoes and come out and dance to the Big Band era and support a great local charity.

The Gala will be held at 5:30pm at the Timber Run Golf Course on Saturday, February 15. Partakers will enjoy cocktails, dinner and dancing. All for the price of $100 per person!

Music will be supplied by The Brian Downey Band. In conjunction with the dance there will be a silent auction and door prizes to be won.

Leaving Home

Around the World on a Dinner Plate

Dinner platesOn January 31, 2014 join Jane and Pat Wolfe as they cook up a destination that will keep you warm this winter. They will be serving the best recipes from Mexico. Bring your appetite and get ready to travel with your taste buds to your tropical destination.

The cost is $15 per person per evening, payable at the door. Please make reservations by emailing www.meraschoolhouse.org  These are very popular dinners and we are able to accommodate only 35 people at each dinner so please do not register unless you are certain you will be attending. MERA members have demonstrated an amazing ability to navigate through the foulest of weather to attend.

In addition, everyone is asked to bring a dessert donation. The desserts are sold separately, with all proceeds going to MERA.
