Crealdé 40th Anniversary Homecoming Exhibition Opening Reception
Crealdé-inspired artists who have taken classes here in the not too recent past and who have moved on to become exhibiting professional artists share current work and stories of how their artistic careers were influenced through experiences at the school. This exhibition is curated by Barbara Tiffany, Director, Painting & Drawing and Chair, Crealdé Gallery Committee. The opening reception Friday, June 5, coincides with the Annual Membership Meeting, from 7-7:30 p.m., followed by a reception until 9:30 p.m. The exhibition continues through August 15.

St. Augustine at 450: A Crealdé Documentary Project Opening Reception at Hannibal Square Heritage Center

The Photography Department, during a special master class, produced this exhibition of photographs and oral histories of the oldest city in the United States during its anniversary year. The exhibition examines the city’s past, its preservation efforts and its place as a tourist destination, college town and home to a diverse population. Produced and curated by documentary photographers and faculty members Peter Schreyer and Sherri Bunye. Reception 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 19. The exhibition continues through August 29.

June 26 – Crealdé Photography Guild presents Sherri Bunye in a discussion of her experiences teaching Crealdé’s Storytellers Teen Documentary Project. Join us on the last Friday of the month to share time with people that have a passion for photography. Presentations are 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Showalter Hughes Community Gallery, Crealdé School of Art, 600 St. Andrews Blvd., Winter Park, FL 32792. Fourth Annual A Night of Fire at Crealdé

Crealdé School of ArtTour Crealdé’s studios and galleries, participate in workshops and demonstrations including a bronze pour, the gas kiln firing and raku firing. For the first time this year, there will be a light-painting display over the lake. The Front Office will be open to register for classes. Enjoy live music, refreshments and storytelling around the fire. All activities are free. Food from the grill provided by Millers Hardware. From 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Crealdé main campus, Winter Park.

15th Annual Crealdé Holiday Sale

Established and emerging Central Florida artists exhibit their arts and crafts along the shores of Lake Sterling in the sculpture garden, including chiefly pottery, as well as sculpture, paintings, jewelry, prints and photographs. The Photography Department will have a Studio Sale with equipment, accessories and photographs by the late Rick Lang. Also the Front Office will be open to register for classes. Food trucks. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at the Crealdé main campus, Winter Park.

Crealdé’s 40th Anniversary Season

ID-10081670Join us Friday, November 7, for a special evening that starts at the main campus with a presentation on “The Life, Work and Legacy of Bill Jenkins” from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Then make a short drive to our second campus in Hannibal Square, Winter Park, as the reception continues from 8-10 p.m., with jazz by the Per Danielsson Trio at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.

Crealdé’s Makers Fair Orlando

ID-10081670Saturday and Sunday September 13-14 come to the Orlando Science Center and take part in workshops and watch our artists in action. Guaranteed to be fun and creative, don’t miss it!

Crealdé School of Art Summer Camp

ID-10081670Do you have a child who loves art? Why not send them to a summer camp built around the visual arts?

Camps are offered for students ages 4 to 17, who are placed in age-appropriate groups of up to 13 participants. Students explore their creativity in photography, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, painting and drawing. Crealdé School of Art’s Young Artist Program offers over 20 classes a session for children who have completed kindergarten through high school. Hands-on instruction in painting and drawing, ceramics and sculpture, photography, printmaking, and mixed-media is conducted in a non-competitive environment by professional artists using well-equipped art-making studios.

Most classes for younger children are offered on Saturday mornings; teens have more options, meeting after school as well as on the weekend.

One Place: Paul Kwilecki and Four Decades of Photographs from Decatur County, Georgia

ID-10010495Come out to Créalde School of Art on Saturday, April 12 for the exhibit of photographs by Paul Kwilecki. This exhibition of 48 framed silver prints spanning the artist’s career is on loan from the CDS. Crealdé will display the collection in two locations, at the Alice & William Jenkins Gallery at Crealdé’s main campus and at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center Visiting Exhibition Gallery in downtown Winter Park.

Purvis Young at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center

ID-10010495Purvis Young is an Urban Expressionist who paints about urban experiences and the struggles of African Americans. Young paints on  domestic items to depict scenes of life. A very provocative and influential artist of Florida, his work is on display at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center at Créalde School of Art.

Créalde School of Art Galleries

Browse through the impressive displays created by artists from Créalde.

Art From the Heart of Florida presents masterpieces by some of Florida’s greatest artists. Come to the Jenkins and Heritage Center Gallery for an awesome display of Florida’s own artists. Show runs from now until January 11, 2014.

Crealdé School of Art September Events

The Crealdé School of Art proudly presents two exhibit events of their students work through their exhibits, The Fellowship of Painting and Drawing, and Art From the Heart of Florida.

The Fellowship of Painting and Drawing

September 6-January 11

Past and present students of the school come together through mentorship, or work study exchange to present their diverse works of art from the painting and drawing department. This exhibit is curated by Vincent Sansone, Cermaics and Sculpture Director; and Rick Lang, Photography Director. The opening reception begins on Friday September 6, 2013 from 7-9pm.

 

Art From the Heart of Florida

This exhibit begins September 20, 2013 and it has two venues, first at the Jenkins Gallery 7-8:30pm, followed by a musical performance and continued reception at the Heritage Center from 8:30-10pm. Inspired by the diversity of talented visual artists who call Central Florida their home, and their work reflects that “Florida state of mind” in their productions. Focus of the show highlights sculpture, paintings, and photography. Curated by Peter Schreyer, Executive Director; and Henry Sinn, Director of Painting and Drawing.
