Welcome Back to the “Cangarda”

The entire community is invited to welcome back the “Cangarda” to the 1000 Islands. She return on June 2, 2011, 3:30 to 6:00 pm on the dock of the Arthur Child Heritage Museum in Gananoque. All ages welcomed and there will be complimentary food and refreshments served.

Cangarda

This 126′ “Cangarda” Steam Launch, built in 1901 will be dockside at the Museum, as she makes her first stop in Canadian waters since leaving in the early 1950’s.This vessel might be better known to some as the Magedoma. Senator George T. Fulford, of Brockville owned it from 1905 until the early 1950’s. It has been completely restored and is en-route to Brockville once again on June 6th.
