Wednesday, December 10th, 2014, join the MEN AND WOMEN OF THE TAY choral groups as they present their annual CHRISTMAS CONCERT at St. James’ Anglican Church, Drummond Street in Perth. Concert starts at 7:30pm, free will donation.

Saturday, November 15, 2014 doors open at the Civitan Hall (6787 Hwy. #43) at 7pm, for KOBO TOWN, a Toronto-based calypso-type band, with a diverse mix of Caribbean and other influences. Band performs at 8pm. Tickets are $20 in advance at Coutts & Company, or $22 at the door. Proceeds to the GUATEMALA STOVE PROJECT.

On Friday, November 21st, 2014 the Downtown Heritage Perth BIA presents the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS adjacent the Crystal Palace and in the Tay Basin. The fun begins at 6pm with music and a bonfire beside the Palace, followed by a fireworks display at 6:30pm sharp. After the fireworks, the Crystal Palace will opened for the mass lighting of the Community Christmas Trees. The ancient – and modern – service of EVENSONG is being offered at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church in Perth on Sundays evenings this fall. The service follows Evening Prayer in the Book of Common Prayer which is noted for its contemplative and spiritual language, and beautiful music. All are welcome!

On the last Saturday in September of every year, the Sister City Committee hosts the annual Black-tie Heritage Ball in Carleton Place! This year the event lands on September 27. The Sister City Heritage ball is considered the “Social Event of the Year”. The evening includes jaw dropping decorations keeping with the theme of the year, dinner, dancing and entertainment.

Tickets are $150 each and include a gourmet meal, dancing and entertainment, and proceeds go towards the Sister City High School Student Exchange Program.
